Backyard or farmland wedding receptions are just perfect for the summer! Hang paper lanterns from the trees. Place citronella candles everywhere! And display an antique bicycle, a wheelbarrow, a lawn mower or even a tractor, to use as a classic photo prop!
A major concern with having an outdoor wedding during the hot months is to keep your guests comfortable and refreshed. Readily fulfill thirst needs by back parking a row of old trucks directly behind the set-up bar. Fill the truck beds with ice and then an assorted selection of drinks! One bed full of water bottles, the second full of soda, and the third truck bed full of alcohol; your beers, wine, wine coolers, liquor. This way, the bartender can easily turn and grab any drink a guest orders.
Or, eliminate the cost of a bartender all together, and just park a few vintage trucks around your reception and fill each bed with an assortment of drinks. They are perfect self serve beverage stations. Just be sure that kiddies don't grab their own drinks. They just might grab a Bud instead of a Jones! That would not be cool!
