I would like a small wedding about 150 people ,a beautiful gown and my girls in beautiful dresses. I want the colors to be purple ,white, lilacs and the men tux black . I really not picky i just want the day my father dream of before he passed away.I could just picture a beautiful day outside in Dallas,Texas walking down the aile to the man I loved since I was a little girl.

  • My fiance and I have been dating for four years, and we will be getting married on September 4, 2010. We have been finishing up our degrees,at the University of Houston and Houston Baptist University. We have always had a great interest in Japan, and we are trying to save up money to go there, but we are trying to save up money for a house, and all the other responsibilities that go along with marriage. It would be great to be able to go somewhere so unique and wonderful at the same time like Japan.

  • Our wedding wish is to just have a honeymooon. My fiance' is in the Army and just came home from Iraq. We are in the process of planning our August 1 wedding. We are moving to Florida after the wedding and we just don't have the money to take a honeymoon. We have been together for 2 1/2 years. One year of that includes his time in Iraq. He is stationed in Texas and I live in NC. Our whole relationship has been long distance and we are looking forward to being together every day. Getting started is very difficult, especially in this economy. My mom and my fiance' are paying for the whole wedding and there is no money left for the honeymoon. So our wedding wish is to have a honeymoon. We would love to go to Hawaii or Key Largo.

  • Our dream is to rent a classical/vintage car for our wedding day! They are extremely hard to find in Virginia...I've searched everywhere. The places I did find were out of state or too far away and it would be too expensive to rent such a vehicle from out of state. We prefer a white or royal purple (we know the purple is a stretch!) colored car, but black would suffice. We figured the car would fit perfectly with our fairy tale theme!!

  • My wish is for my dad to be able to enjoy my wedding. My mother passed away 14 years ago, and he's had a hard time ever since. His business is struggling, and he's trying to sell his house. The wedding on August 1st, 2009 is fast approaching, and I know it's probably the last thing on his mind. It makes me sad, and I really just wish that some of his stress could be relieved so he could enjoy his only daughter's wedding.

  • While everybody is wishing to have something for their wedding mine is simply just to be married in church. My husband and I meet almost five years now, we have 2 wonderful kids who we love most. We got married at the city hall, although we want something more but we cannot afford to have one. We had to decide either to have a church wedding or invest our money for our kids college funds.   • I would like to have real floral bouquets and arrangements. Fake arrangements are so tacky, but that's all I can afford. I have to be realistic; the economy is bad and hurricane season is coming. I need to save as much money as I can. On another note, my wedding has a peacock theme. I would love to showcase this in my bouquets and floral arrangements.

  • This is just something to consider - DIY bouquets. We can't afford to hire a florist either but I'm really big on having real flowers. So we're ordering them in bulk and making the bouquets, corsages, everything the night before. It's far less expensive and should be fun, or at least interesting! :-) Good luck!

  • My husband and I have been together since we were 16. We have experienced so many losses and things that people pur age usually don't go through, but our Love has seen us through. Tens years later we have a beautiful family and were recently married in a very small ceremony before the birth of our fourth child. I was 9 months pregnant and we didn't want to have another baby without being married. I am my mother's only daughter and she missed the ceremony due to an accident. My husband's mother passed 8 years ago, and he is the first to be married out of his siblings- his father missed the ceremony and his grandmother's car broke down and she missed it as well. Everyone that was important to us wasn't there. We had no reception and we have to get our vows convalidated in my church. We are hoping to have the wedding of our dreams on our one year anniverasy 2/7/09, but due to finances we are so limited. Our wish is to have a beautiful reception. We went to the Scott Winfield ballroom in Elizabeth, NJ and fell in love with the location. It was magical!!!! A beautiful reception would really bring everything together:)

  • We've been put in a position to pay for our wedding by ourselves, in turn has made us plan a very small wedding. To only spend the maximum we could afford, we could not invite majority of our family and the little details of our wedding, such as a huge limo, big wedding party, flowers, pretty shoes, a salon of my choice on the wedding day, wedding band, rehearsal dinner, and a honeymoon has to be eliminated from our planning. I've been dreaming about this all my life and it's unfortunate that both our parents were hit very hard with the economical hardships, which is why we have to pay for all of it ourselves. I guess our wish would be to have the little things that are typically a big part of our wedding.

  • My wedding wish is some small things. I would really like a chocolate fountain at our wedding. I also like to have a photo booth. It would also be great to have all my wedding party's hair and make up done at my house before the wedding. It would also be great to have the table centerpieces we want in real flowers. We are doing silk in the centerpieces we want to also save money. All these things, I've had to cut out of our wedding due to budget.

  • -My wedding wish is to have my fiance's family of 7 flown from New York to California and have hotel rooms for them. We were engaged in May this year after dating for 5 1/2 years. My fiance was diagnosed with thyroid cancer over the winter and has since had surgery and radiation. Due to large medical bills, we have had to reduce our wedding plans to fit our very small budget and we can not afford to fly his family out here. His family is very poor and can not afford to fly/stay for the wedding, nor can we afford to fly to them. At this point, it appears that they will not be able to make it to the wedding, which is very upsetting to everyone.

    Our wedding wish is actualy a wish that we really want after the wedding. We are on a strict budget of 4k for the big day...oh yes, trust me....it can happen. As luck would have it. As soon as we siged the contract alot of major things started breaking in the house. No heat, A/C, washing machine, leaking roof....OH!!!!don't get me wrong, I love the free heat/AC that I get when I go to the laundromat, it's still as win win situation, @ least our clothes are all getting washed and dried @ the same time. Our yard...it;s a complete mess, but it was not bad enough for DIY....that's another story. The wedding will be held @ Wintergreen Woods in Lexington, S.C,. If all goes well with the head count not going over we will get our deposit back and be able to honeymoon in Florida....now that is straight HUSLA!!!!!!!!

  • Well, where do I begin with this....
    My dad was a pastor who died when I was 15. He was always the one who was supposed to perform the ceremony. So this wedding will be a very joyous and yet difficult day without him there. With that said now, who do we have that we would both LOVE to perform the ceremony?!? Because after all, it’s really not about how much money you spend, how big and glamorous the wedding is….it’s about two lives being joined as one.
    My fiancé, Trevor’s’ Uncle Cletis and Aunt Tammy Titus will be leaving this July to be missionaries to Jamaica. They are going there to rebuild a college, that is almost all the way down the tubes (apparently Jamaicans don't take care of anything...) Since Trevor is a spectacular handy-man they'd asked him to come and help with the reconstruction of the buildings.
    So this is where my wedding wish comes in, I would LOVE to be able to marry Trevor in Jamaica with our closet relatives there allowing his Uncle Cletis to perform the ceremony!!!!! That would just tickle me beyond pink!
    If we aren’t able to do that, our wedding will take place in Omaha, Nebraska (the good life). 

  • My Wedding Wish is that I get to actually have a Wedding on October 30, 2010. With the economy the way it is. My hours are being cut and when you make less then 13,000 a year and the love of my life doesn't make much either its hard to save money for a wedding when you do not have much money to save at the end of the month. Our parents are helping out some too but I have to keep cutting and cutting things down and or out and now I'm just afraid that it will not happen. We live on as little as possible and I have read so many books on saving money and cutting back on things that are needed. I have been doing all most everything for the wedding I can.   • my fiance and i have been together for 4 years and we different religions. our parents have had a really hard time accepting our relationship. my parents are slowly coming around but his parents refuse to accept me as their daughter-in-law. i dont want my finace to have to choose and so we are trying our hardest to get his parents to agree and be a part of our big day. because of this i am unable to plan or book any concrete item that needs to be done for a wedding, as not to upset his parents any more. my wish is that his parents understand how much we mean to each other and take part in what is going to be the most important day of our lives.

  • Hi Shaista: I know this is a while after your post regarding your fiance's parents not accepting you as their daughter in law as a result of your different religious upbringing. I hope it has all been resolved for you at this point. If not, I feel sorry that you have to deal with this, but I feel even worse for your finance's parents. My daughter is marrying outside our religion and is actually converting to her fiance's religion. I was brought up in a very religious family and passed this religion on to my daughter as well. However, I gave my daughter life, but I do not own her life. My love and gift to her was bringing her into this world, loving and respecting her and allowing her to make her own decisions and choices and paving her own path in this already difficult life and world. Her fiance is a wonderful man, as I am sure yours is as well; and he makes her very happy and I respect him. He is a very kind, smart and wonderful young man. What else could I possibly ask for my beautiful daughter. I'm am sorry to say this, and please forgive me if I am overstepping any bounds when I say this, but your fiance's parents are being very selfish and controlling and as a result interjecting conflict into your relationship with your fiance; which in my mind is not only sad but inappropriate. I would rather have my daughter in my life forever as well as her future husband, to watch them love each other and grow in that love, rather than alienating myself from my child and her future; whatever that may include.   • Our wedding is not just two souls becoming one; in our case, it is seven souls becoming one big happy family! We are blending two families into one. Between the two of us, we have 5 kids from previous marriages, and, as you can imagine, things get pretty chaotic around here! :)
    My fiancé and I adore each other’s kids as much as we do our own, and as much as we adore each other. Our wedding is next Memorial weekend, May 30, 2010. We are planning to include the kids in (almost) every aspect of the wedding, including standing under the chuppah with us, exchanging the vows, participating in the Unity Candle ceremony, and even the first wedding dance. We are also intentionally limiting our bridal party to just the kids: my 18-year-old daughter as the Maid of Honor, my 17-year-old son as the Best Man, my 10-year-old son as the Ring Bearer, and my 9-year-old daughter and my fiancé’s 4-year-old daughter as the Flower Girls. We hope that doing it this way will emphasize how important we think our kids are in this major event, which affects their lives as much (if not more!) than our own.
    We are an unlikely couple – I grew up in Russia, in the concrete jungle of St. Petersburg (Leningrad), population 5 million, in a tiny 380-square-foot apartment with my parents , brother, and grandparents, practically an only child of doting, super-protective “helicopter” parents (my only brother is 8 years older and was out of the house before I was 10). My fiancé grew up on a farm in a small town in South Dakota, with 8 siblings and hard physical labor as the norm for kids of all ages. I am Jewish, he is Catholic. I was a goody-goody-two-shoes growing up, he was a “bad boy”. My parents would’ve passed out at the mere thought of me riding a motorcycle, his parents got him one when he was 12!
    Despite all these differences, we are an amazingly wonderful match. We love and respect each other so much, and get along so well, that it almost seems unreal. Everything just clicks, and we have a great time doing all kinds of things together, from the Opera and Shakespeare’s plays to camping in a tent and pheasant hunting, from hot, romantic dates to family-style outings, from quiet times alone to partying it up with a bunch of friends. No matter where we are, what we are doing, and whom with are with, we always have the time of our lives. And the kids just soak it all up, loving to finally have a full, “real” family, where they feel loved and accepted by two adoring parents.
    My first wedding consisted of my ex-husband taking 2 hours off work during lunch and getting a marriage license at the County Service Center, and then going back to work. Don’t ask me why I got married then – I honestly have no idea! I was only 19, new in this country, and never been on my own before.
    After 14 years of loveless, unhappy marriage, and, finally, divorce, I became a single mom to my four kids, the head of a very busy household, and working full time as a mechanical engineer, so I could support my children. I never thought I would ever fall in love. If it hasn’t happened for me in 33 years, what were the odds that it would EVER happen to me?
    But, against all odds, it did happen… and not just love, but LOVE, all capital letters!!! I am so happy, I am actually scared that I will wake up and discover it was all a dream!
    
    It is now hard for me to understand how I ever lived without my sweetie! The most amazing part is all the kids get along great, even the teenagers!
    This time I dream of a REAL wedding. With Chuppah, a beautiful wedding dress, and all our friends and family celebrating this amazing union with us. Two families blending into one…
    We also want to have a short, but very romantic honeymoon in Paris, followed by a short, but very fun “familymoon” with the kids (don’t yet know where… it’s pretty tricky to find a place that the 4-year-old would enjoy as much as an 18-year-old… but I’m sure we’ll figure it out! : )).
    Of course, with five kids (and 2 more Bar/Bat Mitzvahs coming up, 3 weddings in the future for the girls, 5 college tuitions, and still some lingering debt from the divorces) it is very difficult to make this dream a reality. With us being in our late thirties, and this being a second/third marriage for us, we are on our own as far as paying for it. We could most definitely use some help! If you choose our wedding as the winner, we and our kids will be grateful to you forever!
    So, to summarize, our wish is (pick one or more :) )
    1. A beautiful Family Wedding in the Twin Cities, MN (preferably the Semple Mansion, if we can afford it) on May 30, 2010.
    2. A romantic honeymoon in Paris
    3. A familymoon for a family of 7 at a place to be determined!

  • My wish would be that my Grandparents survive to be present at my wedding. In October my Grandma suffered a stroke and has not been doing well. She has been taking care of my Grandpa who can not see or walk very well, since her stroke his health has also deteriorated. Our entire wedding is planned around them. We will be having our wedding near Elgin, Il where my Grandparents are staying in a nursing home in the area.

  • The wish I have is to get help with our wedding. My Fiance was my first love since I was 11. We have been trying to save money for our wedding but my father just passed away 6/16/09 at only being 54 years old. I didn't care to use all I had for him because he was my daddy. However, I will no longer have my dad to give me away the way that my sister did. This is more of a reason why I want to still proceed with the wedding because I know it is what my dad would want me to do.
    
    We would like to get married in church and then have our reception on a beach but a beautiful indoor place around middlesex or union county would work. I don't ask for much, just to have this day come true.

  • My Wedding wish is just for my husband and I to be able to have a wedding vow renewal ceremony to our thank yous properly. The first time we got married 12 years ago, we got married on a shoestring and I feel that I didnt thank my friends and family and guests properly and we would like to do it right this time. The last time we got married I was also upset with my father and he did not give me away and I have large regrets about that too. This wedding vow renewal is so that we can make everything right and also to say I told you so to our naysayers. There were a lot of people who said we would never make it this long and we made a vow and a personnal commitment to each other for life and we would just like to show that to all of our family and friends. Much of our family and friends provided the different wedding aspects as a wedding gift last time and we most want to thank them properly too! They worked hard and they deserve to be thanked well. I want to do this right on their behalf! Praying hard!

My dad is the only one from his side of the family that is divorced. He's like the "black sheep". On my mother's side, just about everyone has been married and divorved multiple times as if marriage vows are no big deal and mean nothing. My fiance's parents are divorced as well. Divorce really hinders a family, especially if ther are children involved. I know that every family has their problems, but I want a wedding in which finances are not an issue in order to have my family share the experience. I want to make a big deal out of holy matrimony, because it is just that. "Holy" and yet the world views it as something that can be taken lightly. They even sell divorce kits! Ridiculous, in my opinion. I want to start out right, and that starts with a wedding ceremony of a lifelong commitment to your partner. I want the vows of "until death do us part" to actually be a lifelong commitment and not just another statistic in which 60% of marriages end in divorce. I want people to know that a marriage is a big deal between two people in love who are willing to make a lifelong commitment to one another.   • My wedding is in 27 days!! It has been a struggle to plan a weddding because they can be so expensive. I am a very simple woman, and have planned a simple and sweet wedding at the Washington Park Chapel in Denver, Colorado. Our Reception venue is a local restaurant by the name of Solera. They completely blessed us with an affordable price since my fiance and I are paying for everything ourselves. That is why this website was such a huge blessing for us, it saved us a few hundred dollars by having people rsvp on our website! My one wish, that we simply cannot afford, would be to have a photographer for our wedding. We have spent all we can spend and know that the only thing you can take from a wedding are the photos. So if this promotion is true, I would pray we get selected! A photographer would be the one aspect that would simply make my day! Thank you for doing this and I hope everyone the best.

  • I am getting married August 29, 2009! We have a very low budget and could use any help if possible. It has been hard the last couple years between loosing jobs to hospitals and my mother passing away and my dad who is trying his best on helping but when you have three girls and have to pay for all of the weddigs can take a toll.My fiance's mom, bless her heart is doing the food for the wedding.   • My finace has a dream of having our wedding on an island that everyone has to take a boat to. I love the idea but having to pay for everything, it's just not possible.   • All I want for my wedding is to have my family there with me. I moved across the country to be with my fiancee when I was eighteen. I had to leave my family behind and now the only thing keeping me from getting married is the fact that I need my mom to be there. My dad passed away three years and if my dad can't walk me down the aisle my mom is the only other person that I would want. I have five younger siblings and my mom can't afford to fly down and neither can I afford to fly them down. So, all I want is for my mom to be able to witness her oldest child getting married.

  • We are a young couple that actually had a civil marriage in 2006. Due to money restrictions, we have not been able to have our wedding of our dreams. We recently moved down here to Florida but almost all of our family members live in the Tri-State area. We have booked a reception place for the 2010 year, but we are struggling to find where the money will come from. We are grateful that many of our family members will be coming down to support us and are proud that we are young, in college and waiting to start our own family.
    
    My wedding theme is Nightlife in South Beach and a perfect wedding for me right now would be to have a great photographer, nice centerpieces for the tables and lots of lights for the room to give it that South Beach feeling. I just want my wedding to be fun, relaxing and different so that we can show our family and friends how much we appreciate them and that we are grateful that they made the expenses to come and celebrate our wonderful day.

  • We are doing a vow renewal ceremony. In the time we have been married life has literally tested every single vow we made to each other, especially the "in sickness and health" part. In addition to our son, we will have 2 more children by the time of the ceremony (we are adopting through the state system). We have a $3000 budget, and the only way we're making it on that is because my dress is being made for me by a family member, I am printing out the invites myself, and a friend has graciously agreed to be our photographer. My wish is simple, the only thing I won't be able to afford is a videographer so that we can view, minute by minute our rededication to each other for the rest of our lives. Unfortunately, we can't afford one. Our renewal ceremony is October 23, 2010 at Osage Hills State Park in Oklahoma. We are hoping by then all of my health issues will be resolved so that I can just enjoy the day, and know that when we say our vows this time, there's almost nothing we haven't already been through. Anyway, I know there are more deserving people out there that are not already married, but I just wanted to share my wish too. :)

  • Shakher and I have been together for over 10 years now and have been blessed with great families who love and support us in everything we do. Our wedding wish would be to have enough money to send our familes somewhere nice for our wedding as a present for all the love and support they have given us through this time. We're paying for the wedding from our own pocket which is not leaving us with enough money to be able to gift this to our families. It doesnt have to be anywhere exotic- trip to Orlando/ California will suffice since we're up in Canada.

  • My wish is for my fiance to get a new motorcycle... I recently got sick and had to quit my job due to medical constraints. My fiance takes care of all my bills (even student loans) and does nothing for himself. He sold his beloved motorcycle in order to pay for some of my hospital bills. I fought him and told him not to, but he wanted me to have a wedding and put the money towards that instead of my med bills. He works extra hours to cover what we lost with my income, and then comes home and takes care of me and the household duties. He truley is the most giving and caring person I know. So if anyone is giving away a motorcycle, there is one amazing guy out there who deserves it hands down...

We have everything we could ever wish for, a beautiful New England wedding in November 200 at Independence Harbor. But, Drop Kick is a local favorite and my fiance's favorite Boston band. His mother won't be able to be at the wedding, as she is really sick, so that would be my first wish, but highly doubtful she will make it. My second would be to see his face as Kenny Casey and the band start jamming as we make our first appearance as Husband and Wife. That would be priceless.

  • MY beautiful wife to be told me today that she entered a competition, trying to see if she could get some hilp for our wedding. It's a very good idea, but at the same time it hurts my ego. we set the date two times, but i just could not afford to meet the deadline. I am a self employed person who sells ground provision, and somtimes I am ashamed to say I can,t even afford to pay for her hairdo. she has to go without for a long time. I really want to give her a beautiful day, but how can i when I don't have any money whatsoever. Adeane is so understanding it hurts .i just don't want to disappoint her again.to see the sadness in her eyes as she smiles and tell me it is ok is heart breaking. she chose a beautiful place in hellshire, portmore for the wedding and she has planned the whole wedding already.   • My wedding wish is to have help paying for our wedding. I know it's every girls wish to have a fairytale wedding, but when you grow up you realize that fairytale's don't come cheap. It's definitely special enough to be marrying the man that I've been in love with since grade school, but I do want it to be a memorable day for not only us, but our family and close friends. They had a hall booked 6 months ago and put $4,000 down on it, then the wedding hall people fired her caterer and wedding planner, then she had to go taste the new chef's food and didn't get the menu she chose before, the food was bad, then they wouldn't give her a breakdown list of what everything cost so they could save money by not taking something and they wouldn't give it to her, so they ended up canceling the hall, but they will not refund her $4,000 even though there was a breech in the contract, so they are telling her to take them to court. They now have 24 days to find a place to get married and hold the wedding reception all before everyone gets here, and still let everyone know where the new location will be. Now they have lost money on all the invitations, and this hall. They spent everything they had, and now they may lose out on their wedding all together do to location and cost. So again my wish for them is to find a descent, and affordable place to hold both the ceremony and the reception. I am trying to help as much as I can, scrambling to help her find places, making her gown at cost and such, but time is clicking fast. Please help pray to god to help us find a way to accomplish this so that all of her dreams are not lost, and so that she doesn't feel like her marriage is doomed. All your prayers will bring good carma to her.

  • My first wish was that after being with my now fiancee for 12 years, that I would be getting wed at all! Our wish was firstly that everyone would be able to make it to our Hawaii Wedding, and other than poorly relatives, that wish has too been granted.
    
    However, now I wish I could find a florist to do my wedding flowers, so that I would not have to do them myself the night before the wedding in the hotel room. (Looking likely, and whilst I am creative, I am not a florist!)
    
    As our wedding is February 13, 2010. I am having difficulty finding a florist in Oahu, and within my measly budget that can do the flowers I would like for our reception venue. I am living in the UK, and whilst my parents have been wonderful and helpful, by taking care of as much of the in between work as possible for us from Dallas, I find it difficult to represent my vision of my prefect wedding over email!

I was born in Poland and everyone in my family still speaks polish, also I will have three of my family memeber arrive from Poland (the rest of my family will be arriving from Germany) for our wedding.
    My wish is that I would love to have a female gospel singer to sing the song "Ave Maria" in Polish when I am walking down the aile. I simply would love to mix in my polish background to this ceremony!

  • My future husband and I are getting married June 26, 2010 at Benham's Grove in Centerville, OH. I would just really love to have someone to take care of the pre-wedding issues so I won't be the bride and the wedding planner. I want my bridesmaids, FMIL, mother, and I to spend a day just relaxing and enjoying each others company. I'd also like to buy my bridemaid's, mother's, and FMIL's dress and buy my FH's family's plane tickets and hotel rooms so that they can enjoy the day with us without having to worry about money.
    
    We'll find a way to make our financial situation work, even if we have to cut back and not have the wedding things we want, but the most important thing is that my FH has his family with us. Mine are all local, so they'll be there, but we don't know about his.

  • We are having a destination wedding to Maui in March. Originally when we began planning my parents were going to be helping out with the cost, but unfortunately due to various circumstances my FH and I are having to pay for everything ourselves. Some of the little things are having to be pushed aside. One of the things I'm really sad about is that we had to take pre-wedding pampering off of our list of "must-haves". It is more important for us to have a reception and pictures to remember the day.
    
    So my wedding wish is to have pre-wedding pampering a day or two before my wedding with massage, facial, mani, pedi, all of it!

  • My fiancée and I have gotten engaged after almost 6 years together, set the date and booked the hotel...only problem is we now don't think we can afford to have our dream wedding...or even a wedding at all! We are planning to go abroad to get married as we cannot afford the expenses of a traditional wedding. There is no option of having a 'small' reception at home as we both have HUGE families...and we love them ALL so could not cut the list for an at-home celebration. We are not receiving ANY financial assistance from family & neither family want a registry office wedding!!   • my wedding wish would be to have a big wedding with all our friends and family having a good time. me and my boyfriend have been together for almost 5 years. we been talking about getting married for a while now but it always was'nt the right timing with money and all. because I'm the only girl and the oldest in my family,it was always my dream to have a big wedding and having my dad walk my down the aisle, our father daughter dance, etc... but in 2005, my dad passed away. I'll never forget that day because it was on my boyfriends birthday. so it's like when we celebrate his birthday, we're also celebrating my dad passing away. since then, it has been really hard for me and my family dealing with it. i guess we're kind of struggling with our bills and stuff. but this year, we decided that next year we want to get married. with the help of our families or not. (money wise and support) although we might not have the money, we love each other very much and support each other that this is what we want. we want our ceremony to be on the beach at kalapaki by the marriott. and our reception to be in the ballroom of the marriott. my them is to be baby blue which is my favorite color and white. i'm to wear a white dress and my girls to wear a baby blue dress. the groom to wear a black tux with baby blue some how incorporated in and his boys to wear a white polo long sleeve(because its on the beach), dress pants and baby blue sach to wrap around waist. it might be kind of the wrong timing because i got layed off temporary till november but i have a part time job that helps a little. but regardless of anything, we really would like to have this wedding. I want it to be simple but yet elegant. something different from most wedding and memorable. i would like some help, money wise. we don't plan on asking our family for help. we feel if they want to then they can just donate. since my in-laws are donating only a certain amount, and being that i have a single mom, i feel that they should pay equaly. but we don't plan on asking for money. i really would like to have this wedding of my dreams to come true.

  • Brad Pitt says, "Love trumps all"...I would rather the person I'm spending the rest of my life with to be happy, to give him something that he's only dreamed of instead of pleading for a gorgeous gown or beautiful weather. When does anyone ever care what their man, their soulmate, looks for in their wedding day? So, most men don't care...okay, but if they're truly human, men have some idea of what would the perfect wedding day. Like, a hunting theme wedding, or a trip to a Vegas Wedding Chapel, something like this could ultimately spark their enthusiasm. But most women don't care....they want the pinks, the fluffy, the tears.
    
    MY WISH, I guess would be what my future husband wishes for often when we talk about the wedding-for all his grandparents to make it to the wedding(some are too sick to make it up, some are too old, and others are uninterested because of family conflict), to be able to stand on the Detroit Tiger's field and say "I do", have Blink 182 come and play "First Date" for our first dance at the reception, to have his brother stand by his side completely clean, sober, and genuinley happy for him, and to have an unlimited supply of Bud Lite rolling through the reception...haha.
    
    If I could ask for one thing, to have one wish granted, I would ask for the utter happiness of my future husband. My love for him has trumped all my selfish "wants." I want to give him an unforgettable experience.
    
    I realize there are so many more unfortuante women and maybe men out there who you may consider more worthy. If you feel they deserve it more than me, that is fine. However, is their wedding wish for them-vanity-or for love? Because in the end, a wedding is just two people celebrating their love. Skip the flowers, skip the cake, nix the dresses, and strip out all the costs...marriage is about LOVE. I love my fiance, and to give him a wedding that isn't full of feminine furry is MY WISH.

And the ruled state that you can not apply as an independent until your are 25 0r unless ur parets are dead, or you are married.
    we have been living together for about a year. my mother dies when i was 17, so on the last day of high school i moved from Michigan to Connecticut. I can apply as an independent but the school expects his father to be able to give him 6000 dollars for school based on income. but his father is recently laid off, so he does not have the money either.
    We're not asking for anything extravagent, we are very family oriented and we are going to have a summer potluck style wedding, but since i'm a waitress and i work about 15 hours a week and he works 30 hours a week, all of our money goes to bills. We would be able to afooed it alright, if it wasn't for the brakes on our car going out about 2 weeks ago. we've been borrowing his father's car when he doesn't need it, and weeve been looking for a new one, case everyday one of us is working, or babysitting our neices and nephews or Andy's little brother. So the money we would use for the wedding has to go to the car (about 500 dollars). Not to give you a long drawn out sob story, but our wedding wish, is to be able to HAVE a wedding, so Andy can apply for school. cause he shouldn't have to wait till he's 25, and we're getting married anyway, so why not a little sooner.

  • It's very simple my wish. It's what ever girl dreams of on her wedding Day. For her Dad to walk her down the isle. My Dad was diagnosed with bladder cancer about 4yrs ago. He had to have surgery and have his bladder removed. He need to wear a catheter bag now, which makes him very unhappy. It leaks and he get embarrassed. He continued with Chemo which at the two year mark he was doing well. A year ago the cancer came back in his lungs. He's been on Chemo treatment after chemo Treatment and nothing is working the mass has gotten bigger. They have told him they have nothing to give him. How is this True. There are so many brilliant people out there and now one has a treatment for bladder cancer. So Very simple my wish is for my Father to be healthy to walk me down the isle Sept 6, 2009 in Central NJ and to be around for his grandchildren that Craig and would love to give him.

For years he has been my best friend, my therapist, my everything, and in him I have found a foundation-- a home no matter how far away from home I actually am.   • my wedding wish is actually 2 in 1, the first one, to really be able to afford to pay for a wedding. I have been with my fiance for 4 yrs now and have been engaged for 2, we were actually just going to go to Vegas and do it there but I wanted a real wedding. We also have 3 amazing girls so mone is a little tight right now and m fiance is the only one supporting our family at the moment since my youngest daughter is just 4 months old, I pretty much stay home to take care of my kids. We're struggling as is but we make it by and we're just not sure if we can afford a wedding thats why we've been putting it off but we're trying to save whatever we can and set the date for next year. The second part of my wish is to be married on the Laker/Clipper floor at Staples center. I know that sounds so out of the question but my fiance is a true and huge Clippers fan and he even told me that he wishes we could married on the Clippers floor at Staple Center so if that were to happen that would be so amazing and would really make our wedding even more special to us.

  • We are hoping to have our Hawaiian themed wedding on July 4, 2010. My wish is that we can have a beautiful, homey wedding on my fiance Sam's farm in rural Missouri. It has always been his dream to fix up the farm and get married there. I fell in love with the farm as I was falling in love with him. He is so passionate about his dream. This would be the first wedding for both of us, though Sam is 50 and I'm 40. We've waited a long time to meet the right person and pursue a dream together.
    Unfortunately, Sam was injured in the line of duty as a city police patrolman. He could not return to work and is now on disability. We would love to fix up the grounds of the farm in order for wedding guests to enjoy it, and also fix up the small farm house on the property before the wedding. Sam is frustrated that he can't do as much as needs done on the farm and is afraid we will not be able to have the wedding there. It would really disappoint him to have to get married elsewhere. He sees this as a symbol of starting our lives together and realizing the dream.
    My wish is for a group of handy, reliable people to descend on the farm and help us fix up the property and help make our dream a reality.
    Though the farm is located in Salem, Missouri, we currently reside in Toledo, OH. We hope to someday live on the farm when it is fixed up.
    As a point of information, we are having Hawaiian themed wedding because half of my family is from Hawaii. We are having fun with the idea that "Hawaii may come to Missouri" and hope to add some authentic touches of Aloha. I hope we get the chance to make that happen.

  • My name is Grace and my Fiancee' is Leonard. We live in Lorain, Ohio and have been together for almost 11 years. We are getting married August 22, 2009. We decided a few years back to go ahead and make our lives official, under God and to our families. However, within the last past year, during the middle of planning the wedding, Leonard's job shut down for good. He was without employment and the college sent a letter to me to finally be able to get back into nursing school. For me that was a dream come true because I had stopped going to school a few years back when I decided to get full custody of a beautiful young lady, that I proudly now call my daughter. She was graduating from high school this year, and was finally on the right track.....so I felt it was a great time for me to be able to go back to school. Leonard thought it was a great opportunity as well, because our two other kids were 4 and 9 at the time, and he felt that it would be easy for him to get a new job. Well.....things haven't gone as we hoped. I did start back up in school this January and our daughter graduated this June; but Leonard has had a really rough time getting a job. Unfortunately a lot of our wedding vendor's deposits were already paid, and calling off the wedding would have us loosing a lot of money. So we have pushed on, and I have picked up more hours at my job. Therefore, there are a lot of things that we had planned for our wedding that we have had to forget about or drastically change in order to stay within our means. But, if I had to pick out one thing that we would love to NOT have to go without, it would be our decorations for the reception hall. We have rented out the VFW hall on Oberlin Ave (Lorain, Ohio). I just wanted something simple.....candles on every other table and a tall flower vase with calla lilies on the opposite tables, then I wanted the cake table to be surrounded like it was sitting in the clouds (I have a beautiful cake with a castle as the cake topper)---toulling hanging from the ceiling around the back of the table and the sides, and the gift table and the bridal table to be elegantly decorated with anything. My wedding colors are gold and ivory with a slight touch of royal purple.
    Well, those are a few of my wedding wishes. I just want my guest to be in amazement.
    Our family has been through a lot over the past 11 years: Life is an amusement park and Love is a roller coaster.....we are inviting everyone to come aboard and join us for the start of the most thrilling ride of our lives!!

We have had so many adventures! I moved to the Atlanta area where my children graduated from high school and graduated eventually from college.
    With God on our side and our children's support we have overcome any challenges and critiques we have faced in our lives.

    But I think the best thing about our wedding will be that we are not asking for anything in return..FOR US! We will be asking for donations to help those that need it most. We have not thought of specific charities..but so many come to mind, we just don't really neeed anything & want more than anything to just give....:) We will most likely get married & honeymoon all together...so it's the reception we want to do this at. I'm not a great planner, but in my mind if we could pay for some things and then get others to volunteer their specialties...it would bring in way more money than spent..well at least that is the plan!

  • I have been fortunate enough to have my parents pay for the majority of the wedding. My fiances family is unable to contribute financially, and my fiance and I are living on a very tight budget and are unable to make large contributions despite my working overtime as much as I can. His hours were recently cut at work, and I've increased mine in the emergency services field to make up the difference. I feel extremely guilty that my parents have made such huge sacrifices for me to have the day of my dreams (my mom really needs to put a new roof on her house, due to last years hurricanes). The only thing that would absolutely make our day, other than getting my mom a new roof, would be to have a limo for my fiance and I, to enjoy with our bridal party. Those little details get left out during such an expensive event, and I know it would make my fiance extremely happy.

  • My fiancee and I are both theatre people who even met each other at the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Thus it is our dream to have a theatrically inspired wedding. we have our hearts set on a Midsummer Night's Dream themed wedding, full of flowers, greenery, greek columns, fairies, and specialty lighting to set that fairy tale mood. we wanted to have the ceremony reflect the part of the story that takes place in Athens. we were hoping to have many columns with floating candles adorning the aisle. as for the reception, we wanted to make it as fairy forest-esque as possible (ie. tables covered with vines or twinkle lights, fairy statues, and flowers). we are not rich people and we have a son together who will be turning one soon so we do not have the means to spend alot on a one day event, but i still feel like we deserve a special day too. our entire wedding budget is $7,000 for our guest list of 70 people. so as of right now, my brother will be hand making the fairy statues and taking the wedding pictures, my step father will be DJing, and all the other decorations will be fake and coming from the dollar stores or will be hand made. even my bridal bouquet and bridal party flowers will be handmade. we are not spoiled or greedy people so we will be fine with the flowers as they are and the deco looking a little tacky but i would love the 9 medium sized columns which we cannot afford and cannot figure out how to make and more than anything we want a professional photographer. so our wedding wish would be some help with the decorations and a real photographer so we have great photographic memories of our special day. this is such an important day for us, so if there is some way you can help us it would be more appreciated then you could ever possibly know.

  • I would like to start by saying that I am very blessed to have met the man of my dreams and my best friend and to be able to be marrying him! Mike and I have been together for two years and are planning a June 5, 2010 wedding back in Albuquerque. Mike and I have overcome so much... Mike was diagnosed with cancer in November which he has fought and won, I was laid off in March and Mike was laid off in May. Also in April we discovered Mike's mom also had cancer which she is still fighting the battle.
    All I want for the wedding is for it to be memorable it is hard to not have money for our own wedding and to ask the help of parents who are helping us to survive not having jobs... we have a small wedding budget but need prayers and help getting the small things like flowers and a cake and gifts for our families to say thank you for everything.
    Mike is also trying to get into the Air Force which I hope he is able to so if anyone who reads this can keep us in thought and prayer we would appreciate it.

  • Our wedding wish is to have our Fairy Tale Cinderella dream wedding. We are getting married March 4th 2009. Because out families can not afford to help out we are putting on our wedding. We only have one income so that one of us can stay at home. We would love to have an elaborate Cinderella wedding at a fancy hotel and have fireworks at the end of the night. (We are having a Friday night wedding) And we would love a carriage ride, and feel like were were the prince and princess. Our plan is to have our honeymoon at Disney World. And as a side note our first date was at Disney World, hence the theme wedding... :)

  • We had planned and were supposed to get married on my birthday 5-16-2009. Several things came up that prevented it from happenint as we had wished for. We opened our own business and that went well then we had problems at the appartment that we were renting and ended up having to move. Everything was against us and we had to put off the most important day of our lives till a later date. When this day finally comes you will not see a happier person than me in this world.

  • In our dreams, we picture large paper lanterns, strings of lights surrounding the pavilion, people laughing, dancing, and having a great time in a beautifully decorated and lit up outdoor pavilion. Robert and I are having our reception in this outdoor pavilion, after our ceremony on the lawn.
    
    In our nightmares, it's just a concrete floor, with rafters that have basic lights on the ceiling. The costs to decorate the pavilion ourselves, or to pay someone to do it for us were just too much. We now have a pavilion that can hold 400 people, with only 150 people and lots of extra dark concrete space.
    
    We worry about taking on the task of decorating this pavilion and being able to afford it. Our wedding wish would be to have a beautifully decorated reception in the outdoor pavilion. All different sized paper lanterns hanging from the ceiling, strings of lights lighting up the entire pavilion. Beautiful flowers in our colors of pink, orange, and green on display. The thought of such a display just brings a smile to my face.

  • My fiancée and I met in December last year. She's an amazing girl, always joking and smiling. I would like to realize Her dream wedding. It would be a four seasons wedding, just as if they were living one year with us. So it would start by the spring , with flowers like lilac and roses, everything pink and white, with bubbles to great a magical atmosphere for the ceremony.
    Then we'd have a little lunch with our friends and relatives, which theme would be "an indian summer", with indian food and beverage, fushia and orange colours, exotic flowers, and indian music and dance.
    After that, only invited people would follow us to have a dinner in the outside. The theme would be "A Jane Austen autumn". Everything brown and beige, even the food. We would end by a butterflies release.
    And then, the last surprise, a winter like dance hall. Everything white and silver, shining and glimmering. The first dance under the snow (or confettis) and the cake, all white and looking as fragile and beautiful as a flake.

  • My Wedding Wish.... my mother was recently diagnosed with cancer and following her surgery she has yet to regain her mental faculties. Prior to this we always spoke about a surprise wedding in my parents back yard. We wanted to surprise our parents, families and friends but she'll never see me on my special day. She was my best friend ... we still want to have our special intimate backyard wedding with lots of flowers (which she loved)and music to celebrate. We both work long hours and it's going to be tough to afford a wedding which is why our backyard fantasy wedding is the best route for us at this time.     Oooh as a girl who grew up imagining her fairytale wedding, my heart holds so many wishes. I can give you a mile long list of all the pretty wedding details I imagined growing up, but now as an adult I am faced with reality and understand there's sacrifices to be made.
    
    Due to many financial constraints my fiance and I have cut many details from our wedding. This breaks our hearts, but---it's OK! because...we're FINALLY getting married!!! We are high school sweethearts and have been dating for 12 years. After many many roadblocks, we decided to take the plunge, and luckily for us we will be able to tie the knot on our actual 13th year anniversary, April 17, 2010.
    
    After cutting many details from our planning, it seems our wedding bands might also have to be sacrificed.
    So, my absolute wedding wish is WEDDING BANDS!!!
    
    No need for over the top flashy rings. We just want some classic elegant bands to be part of ceremony and symbolize our union.

    I think what you are doing is wonderful.
    Harry and I met on the internet 8 months ago. This is the second time around for both of us. We are both over the age of 50 and madly in love. Harry proposed on August 5, 2009 on a sunset cruise off the beach at Wakiki. In the middle of the dance floor he dropped to one knee, I asked him what was he doing and then he asked me to marry him. After I cried tears of joy, I said yes. Everyone on the cruise celebrated with us as the sunset into the Pacific.
    Our wish is to take 18 guests (my mother, his 2 parents, my 2 sons and 1 daughter-in-law, 1 grand baby, his daughter and son-in-law, their son, his son and is girlfriend, his sister, her boyfriend, her son, Bestman and Maid of honor) back to Hawaii for a wedding. We dream of a small Hawaiian wedding on the beach in Makaha with a Luau for the reception in August of 2010.
    We both work for the school district and have dedicated our lives to eduction the inner-city youth. We have limited funds, so we need the "Wedding Wishes Come True" Angels to help us.

  • Michael and I met online. I live in Puerto Rico and he lives in North Carolina. I know it sounds crazy, but life had its way of bringing us together.
    We both raised our children on our own. His daughter is 20, my son is 19. We have been blessed with both as they are great kids. We both believe in marriage and soulmates. Life had shone us that we needed to let go of what could not be fixed to be able to find happiness. I had struggled with being a single mom with a teacher pay check, but managed to buy a house and put my son through college. I am even fifnishing a masters. Michael is just absolutely the perfect father. He had been there for his girl and did excellently, plus keeping family and friends in his painting business.
    As many other couples, we struggle economically to make things happen. It would truly be a long seeked wish to be happy for once in our lives. After many years of tears and loneliness, we need to be with eah other. We dael with the distance and we work hard to be able to see each other at least every one or two months. This has been going on for two years now. We have been waiting for me to finish my masters and also we had been paying to keep our kids in their undergraduate studies.
    
    We dream of a simple family oriented beach wedding here in Puerto Rico. Music and food is a must as we both love to entertain. I wish his family to enjoy the island's beauty while visiting and meeting my family as well. I also have siblings in the states and I am sure they will all make sacrifices to come down in an occasion we all have been waiting to come.
    I'd love to have our relatives to take part in creating this wedding as it will have more meaning and all will be satisfied.
    I love Michael dearly and wish to not make this a burden on him. I am doing all I can to be able to make him happy as he always tries to put a smile on my face.

The Edgewater Cafe was our place of choice in Chicago on the Northside lakefront even though small & intimate, it had history & uniqueness that was special to us. I have my heart set on a garden-party style wedding, but it looks like it will have to be indoors as Michigan weather is just too unpredictable to risk going outside. But I was hoping I could still capture that garden party feel by bringing lots of plants inside. I was picturing large plants, like ficus or palm trees, maybe even decorated with little white strings of Christmas lights...it would be so pretty! Unfortunately, I underestimated the cost of this endeavor, and now as other wedding costs are growing, it looks like it won't be able to happen. :(

  • I love this website! Its amazing! All my friends thought it was a great idea. Thanks mywedding.com! Our wedding is Oct 24, 2009. Our wish is to have the little things we can't afford right now and desperately need as the wedding quickly approaches. We spent most of our budget on the big things: the reception hall, DJ, photog/videpgrapher, limo, flowers and decor, cake and catering. Now we're short the money for the little things: engraved champayne flutes, knife and cake server, cake topper, favor boxes (pink and ivory), guestbook and pen, and a card box at the gift table. That is all we need to put the final touches on our wedding.
    
    My fiance has been unemployed for four months now and we were hoping to pay for the expenses ourselves. Thankfully my Mom (single parent) is helping and friends but we still can't afford these simple items. We couldn't even afford a honeymoon--maybe next year. Please help! I keep having nightmares we won't be able to get them in time for the wedding and everything will turn out a disaster because of it. Please make my wish come true...     how you are feeling, I lost my dad to cancer. I know it will be an emotional day there will be tears, but celebrate. Celebrate your new life and your fathers life. It is a great feeling to know your father met your husband. I lost my dad at 18 and miss him more everyday. My boyfriend and I started dating 6 months before he passed. My dad said take care of him, he's a good guy. I didn't know at the time we were going to marry each other then, but my dad knew. Now I am 24 and I know in spirit he will be there with a smile.

  • I have been engaged for 3 and a half years now and have 2 beautiful kids. I met my fiancee a few months after my daughters father passed away and was left a single parent of an 8 month old, and one month before our elopement. My now fiance was a great friend and I am eternally grateful to have met him when I did. He helped me overcome one of the hardest times in my life.
    
    Now that we have finally decided to plan our wedding for next year October 2nd, 2010, money is sooo tight. With 2 kids, me being a full time student and only work part time. I don't know if we will have the money to do anything at all. But I hope everyone out there prays for us to finally be able to say our vows and for me to be able to make my wish come true and marry the man I love, my best friend!

  • Our wish is to have a fun, memorable day with our family and friends.
    
    We love each other so much and really feel as if the only important thing about our wedding day is that we're able to share it with our family and friends...they mean the world to us.
    
    My parents have both passed away and George's family lives in Kenya so we're paying for this all on our own.
    
    We've had a very rough year financially... I lost my job this past year which caused us to really tighten the belts. I finally landed a job last week (which is literally half what I was making in my last position). The Friday before I started my job, my fiance was laid off from his job. We just can't win!!
    
    This economy is really making it tough on us to have a wedding. I hope we're able to do it in 2010...if not we'll shoot for 2011.
    
    We're planning something very simple but when you're struggling to pay the bills it's tough to even plan something simple.
    
    We're really hopeful that the economy is turning around and that we'll see the light at the end of the tunnel shining brighter every day so we can afford a special day surrounded by the people we love.
    
    We're hoping to have a honey moon in Kenya some day as well. I am yet to meet his mom, sisters, nieces and nephew and I want more than anything in this world to be able to meet them.
    
    I hope we're able to make this all happen some day.

  • I have been dating my sweet heart Nathan for almost three years, and of that I have seen him for hmmm maybe 1 year and 6 months. He was a sergent in the Marines (infentry) he served two tours one in folushia.And one in Iraq. He was based out of twenty nine palms california! And I live in Provo Utah :)
    I fell in love with him the moment I walked into Kates house. Here was this handsome darked haired smokey green eyes, ha ha I fumbled over my words and totaly ignored him. But still had a strange longing to see more of him.
    He was only here in Provo Utah on a visit, And left always as quickly as he came. But one night under the stars in the freezing cold of novmeber, on a swing in the back yard we talked until the sun came up him swinging me, edging closer and closer steeling my breath, even now i get chills remembering how over powering it all was and still is.
    The most genuine beautiful creature, I had no idea someone that looked the way he did and spoke the way he did, could exist. haha I had so many conversations with my self about it. I couldn't honestly figure out what someone so amazing would be doing with me.
    It was slow and beautiful like a dance. Every time the phone would ring my heart would beat so fast. And every text message. I remember curling up on the bed and kicking my legs at cute things he would say.
    I guess it's funny how nothing can compare when you finally find the one the one you have looked for your whole life, the perfect nook the passionate love hell even passionate fights. But we know eachother so well. He is My soulmate my best friend. And I want to walk down the isle and take his breath away, I want him to look at me like I look at him every hour of every day. And play and have an amazing wedding. With all of his fellow Marines can attend and our family's. I wish that my parents had the money but with devorce and big familys it can become somewhat of a loosing match. Please help us. He deserves to have the wedding of his dreams too. He told me he knows in his heart that he was saved to find me on this earth and no matter what happens he will find me in the next! My heart bleeds for our happy begening please Help us

  • My wish would be to able to afford our wedding, I lost my job due to cut backs and we have been living off his 10 something an hour and been forced to move in woth his mother. I love her to death but this is not the dream I had. We are hoping after we are married to get the first time home buyers hook-up but a wedding still seems impossible. I moved back to pa after leaving the Air Force hoping for better luck and so far no such thing. I'm praying for a miracle.

I would do ANY thing to be able to have her here with us for a late summer wedding! I want her to be part of the wedding party and be involved in the planning and decisions making process but in order to have her be part of this she would need to take 2 trips back and forth due to financial times we have decided against our wishes to wait until this 3 year "tour" is over. We have been together for almost seven years and are hoping for the wedding we always dreamed of. The problem is we just can't find the right location.   • My fiance and I are getting married 5/08/10. It's going to be held a traditional Catholic Church. With reception to follow. We're almost already done with all of our planning too. Yeah! We are having a classic 1950's inspired wedding. We're avid collectors of 1950's /60's all american vintage! On our big day, we'll be swinging to oldies, drinking to Dean Martin.. Celebrating our union with some old school class!
    Our wish would be to enjoy a breathtaking trip to Italy! He is full Italian, from a big italian family, and as family over there, but neither of us have ever even been to Europe! ...That's sad. We would love to visit the Vatican, tour Rome, Venice, enjoy the wine and food. Yum! Now That's Amore!
    We are definitely trying to make this happen! It would be great with a little extra help though!

  • I would love to win this because me and my future husband's family are very close to each other and they love us. Me and Tamarkus have 3 beautiful children, we have been together since I was a freshmen in high school I am now 26 and he is 28 we have loved each other just as strong now as we did then. Our family does not have the money to have the wedding of our dreams I know if they could afford it they definitely would help us with it. We want my wedding to be in my hometown Fort Wayne Indiana. I would love for it to take place in a nice Church of God In Christ. We soon realized it was impossible to fit everything in we wanted off of our budget. "This is suppose to be the best day of our lives", we thought. I've never been on a plane before, or out of the country. We were looking forward to our honeymoon, and hoping starting a family soon after, but with a guest list of 500 (much larger than we expected), the money we were hoping to use for our honeymoon is now being used to feed our guests! My dream would be to get enough help to get the honeymoon we worked so hard to have!

My skin became one big scab, red and flaky across my entire body, and even though he barely knew me, he stuck with me, giving me my injections and accompanying me to doctors appointments as we tried to figure out exactly what is wrong. Even though he knows I will have to be treated my entire life to not be in pain, he still proposed, willing to spend his life at my side fighting my condition. Although the medication helps, and I can walk again, I still have patchy areas on my legs, and the side effects from the shots are awful. My skin breaks out in acne and I lost about 50% of my hair on my head. I also cannot get pregnant, something we want so badly, until I can get off of the medication. I just want to be the beautiful bride, for him to see what I looked like before all of this, because he deserves it so much.
    My wish is for hair extensions on my wedding day and for a UVB light booth. With this light booth, that my HMO will not cover, I could wean myself off of my medication and finally have normal, pain free skin, and the choice to start a family. Unfortunately, the light booths are over 10 thousand dollars, something we cannot afford. Thank you so much for reading my wish!

    Dan & I are getting married 3/13/10 in NJ. We have only a few details covered(venue,dress,his ring)We are going to use one of my old rings for me.   • umbrellas...we're getting married in sunriver, oregon smack dab in the middle of summer. the ceremony is outside on the river at 5:30pm - it's still quite warm at that time of the early evening however shade is sparse. the comfort of lovely umbrellas would be the perfect touch for my guests to enjoy the ceremony with ease. plus, my great aunt marilyn would absolutely love it.

  • We are having a very small ceremony with no reception. My wedding wish would be to have a really great professional photographer for maybe 3-4 hours to take some good photographs for us. Wedding potograpy is so expensive these days that we can't really fathom sepending that much money for such a short ceremony. I have always loved photography and always will, i wish i could have a real artist take some unforgettable pictures of our special day. We are getting married in Tahoe for a wonderful winter wedding.

  • My wedding wish is not for me but for my daughter. We live on the gulf coast and while we were very fortunate to not have extreme damage due to Rita,gustaf and Ike they took their toll finacally. I will make her wedding cake to save on cost, my son can do photo's, but need help with flowers, food, a honeymoon trip to Maui is really my wish for them. That is where my husband and I wanted to go for ours but we could not afford it. He was born on Maui, and it would be great to take her to there.

  • My wedding wish is to simply have a wedding - nothing fancy. I come from a large family of 6 kids. I am 27yrs old. My dad is retired and just recently got of the of hospital (near death experience due to a medication reaction). My parents don't have the money to assist us in paying for a wedding. My fiance and I live together in a one bedroom apartment in NJ. One of the most expensive places in the world. We have no savings and he is in between jobs due to the bad economy. We met over 3yrs ago with the help of MySpace. I have tried to take out a loan but with a recent bankruptcy no one will help me. My fiance's credit is also all messed up. I have no where to turn and it's so upsetting. I wish for a wedding - any wedding - something to remember and make us smile. I can't hold back the tears writing this and hoping someone would be kind enough to help us.

  • My wedding wish is to marry the man of my dreams in front of our family and friends. I want a simple and elegant outdoor wedding in the fall. I imagine plum purple and apple green calla lilies with Ivory table cloths. A huge dance floor with lots of food and drinks and a beautiful wedding cake on a table of sweets for everyone to enjoy. Calabasas California is our destination because it is in the middle of everyone, but almost anywhere is fine with me.
    Like most people, we are paying for our own wedding and are on a tight budget. My fiance took a chance and opened his own business five years ago and now it is reaching its end. Next year his parents will loose their house because of this and we are having a hard time trying to stay positive and plan this wedding with no money and no help.   • I'm getting married 12/11/09 on a famous steam locomotive, the SP4449! I'm so excited about it because it was my fiance's idea and he's so involved with that locomotive, building parts for it etc. We're having a private run just for our wedding. It's the perfect wedding location for us.
    
    I was supposed to get married 3 years ago, but my wedding was called off on the day of because the guy was abusive and went crazy. I was very lucky to escape that. Now I have a wonderful man in my life who treats me well and values and respects me. In fact, he's even making our rings! (Titanium - he's an amazing machinist).
    
    Having said all that, my wish is for my brother to be at my wedding. He's in the Army and we haven't seen each other since that nightmare day 3 years ago. My brother's never even met my fiance. Having my brother at my wedding would mean the world to me and my parents and grandparents. My grandpa's not in the greatest of health and his favorite holiday is Christmas and he loves having all of his grandchildren around. So having my wedding during the holidays and having my brother home would mean the world to him as well. I hope this wish comes true!

  • My Wedding Wish is to have a wedding with all of our friends and family at a pretty place in the North Shore area of Massachusetts. My fiancee and I are a little on the poor side, and it is extremely hard to save up money for all this. I feel like by the time we do manage to save up enough, we'll be in our 50's or 60's. What some places around Massachusetts ask for is crazy, not even close to what we can afford. Not to mention the only time our families have recently been together has been due to funerals, so I would love to have them together for a happy occasion.   • I met my soon-to-be husband while we were attending art college. I never really made friends easily, and he came up to me right away. He switched his seat to sit by me, and kept trying to date me even after I turned him down, (I had bad experiences before and was afraid to try again). Since then, he has spent the past six years filling my life with smiles, and laughs and amazing little moments that would seem trivial to anyone else. He brought 2 amazing step-children into my life, and gave me my own amazing baby girl. Though money has been tight, jobs have been lost, and we've had to uproot and move again and again, and eventually having to stay with my parents to make ends meet, he has always pulled us through the hard times and managed to keep me smiling. We've pushed our wedding date back twice now due to our endless supply of bad luck, but now it is becoming a reality. My only wish is that we could have a honey moon. I know he has worked so hard to pull our family through all of our struggles, and would love to share a relaxing vacation with him. I think he deserves it so much, and would love to be able to provide it. I know he'd love to see Ireland, he gets Ireland travel magazines sent to the house just so he can look and dream. It would be wonderful, but any sort of vacation for us would be a blessing.

  • My wedding wish is to have a wedding.My fiance' and I got engaged this past summer on a family cruise.My sorority was sister sorority to his fraternity but somehow we never met. I got a job as a nanny and one day I was at my bosses office giving him some keys I saw jeff behind the counter. Then at one of their work party at the blue angels air show one of my little girls introduced us in a way. She wanted me to make him leave her alone. We met for the third time at seville quarter and danced and talked.After that night we we're always together. We really want to have a small wedding at the place we met. Its a historical piano bar in pensacola.We are both still working our way through school and are saving but life has been constantly throwing us curve balls. My mother can not afford to help us and his parents want to help, but we dpont wantt them to have to pay. We want a very personalized wedding. We want people to leave knowing who we are as a couple. The ceremony would be in the courtyard of the bar with a garden theme. Pink and green.whit garden benches and chairs mixed for the guests. I dream of a tulip/ mermaid gown sweetheart with lace. A flower headpiece and bright pink shoes. The reception in apple annies( the bar) would still have the garden theme pink and green. The tables would be named after places me and my fiance jeff have visited with picutres and a description of what we did and why its signifigant. A retro photo booth so guest can take pictures and a bin of flip flops for their feet. A guestbook/ scrapbook of all the guest so they can sign and leave a message by their photo and we can use it as a family album. A grooms cake to look like a nintendo remote for my gaming fiance and as a favor a cd of all of "our" songs. We are big inot music and have always made each other cds. Some nigths we just go driving and listening to them all to get away from the world for a bit. Save the dates that are photo booth pictures of jeff and I holding save, the, date, and the date signs. I walk down the isle to david grey's this years love and we have our first dance to dave matthew's Crush. Photo journalistic stly pictures of us down town before the ceremony and we have our exit sparkelers and some retro vehicle. Quick change and then back out to the same bar to party with our family!

  • My fiance and I are high school sweethearts, we have been together for six and one half years. After high school we were forced to go our separate ways in college and have been in a long distance relationship for five long years. He finally proposed on the most important night of the year, Christmas Eve, and we set our date for August 21, 2010. Since we are both either still in college or fresh out of it, we are focusing our money on things like cars that actually start everyday, college loans, and saving for a downpayment on a house. We are simple people with a simple wedding planned which my parents have graciously offered to pay for. Since my fiance spent his savings to show me his love by buying the exact (expensive) ring I wanted, I have been saving to give him a fantastic honeymoon that he would never be able to forget. Currently, our honeymoon will consist of a road trip to Boston because I cannot even afford plane tickets. If I could take him anywhere in the world it would be Europe, because I know he has always wanted to go and most likely would have on some study abroud program if he would not have met me and felt he had to stay close to me. If we could get any start to this dream honeymoon I could not explain to you what it would mean to me.     In 2006 my dad passed away from a heart attack. In February 2009 I met the man of my dreams through an online dating site, I met him on the anniversary of my dad's death. I always knew Daniel ( my fiance) was "the one". Deep down inside, I know my dad was the angel that sent me my soul mate.
    Our wedding will be on October 3, 2010 and it makes me so sad that my dad will not be able to walk me down the aisle. Our wish for our wedding day are three small ones: (ONE:)I would like to have very vibrant colored flowers such as yellow, orange, purple, green etc. on that day and be able to take all the flowers after the wedding to my father's grave. (TWO:) My dad videotaped and Photographed both my sisters weddings and promised me, he would someday video record mine as well and take pictures, unfortunately,he didnt make it. We would like a videographer and or photographer to capture our special day. (THREE:)We would like to have a limo, or any nice vehicle take us to my father's grave after the ceremony to deliver my bouquet and some floral arrangements to my father. This is the only way I could think of to incorporate my wedding and my father since physically he will not be here byt spiritually he is. I know he will be enjoying our wedding from the best seat in the house :-)

    On December 15th,2002 I lossed my father due to suicide. I live in Orlando, FL, where I have been since 1997 and my family remains in Canada. So it was even more difficult in the first 2-3years after his passing since I was away from the family. My two older brothers, sister and rest of my family though close, grew closer at this time. Over the years since then, it has become easier to deal with. Although at times I find myself upset or smiling when certain songs come on, or when certain dates arrive. In 2007 I graduated nursing school and am currently working as a labor and delivery nurse. I recently became engaged to my amazing fiance Christopher! We started dating in July 2007 and he popped the question September 16,2009 while we were in Canada for my younger sisters wedding. My sister, her fiance and kids, Christopher and I went to Niagra Falls, Canada and un known to me, the four of them had the day/night planned for months! I so wish my father could've met him. I truely feel he is the angel that sent Chris to me. So my wish is to have my family here in Florida for our BIG day 11/12/11. Since Chris and I do not have families that can help us with the wedding cost, we are having to save up. I would love to be able to pay his family and mines way here, but can't. My biggest fear is that my family or his will not be able to make it due to funds and since my father is not here to walk me down the aisle, I would like my two brothers to give me away. Chris is going to be wearing his family kilt and since I come from an Irish background, my Nanny (my fathers mother) would love to see it! Due to funds again and state of health, I am afraid she will not be able to see it:( So I'll be wishing on a star to have our families here to see me walk down the aisle and Chris become a husband:)

  • My wedding wish will never happen the way I want it to but I'm ok with that. I met my fiance at my current job of taking care of elderly people. I was taking care of my fiance's grandpa. His grandpa kept telling me how he has this grandson that's my age, single, good christian man, just working on a farm with his family. I figured there had to be something wrong with him because from what I had heard he, at 25, had never dated and he sounded too good to be true. His grandpa and I became good friends over the months but was still persistant in us hooking up. It took almost a year but my fiance and I finally started dating in June of 2007. His grandpa found out and was so excited for the two of us. Sadly, his grandpa passed away in November of that year. My wish is that he was still alive to see his grandson and I get married next year.

See, my parent’s divorce when I was very young and shortly after the split my mom and I moved to US. Therefore, I hardly ever saw my father, I saw him maybe 5 times over the past 15 years. I never got to dance with my father and the only wish I always had was for my father to walk me down the aisle and have that first dance (first dance ever). Despite our distance our relationship is very strong and I cannot see myself having a wedding without him.     To have my Dad walk me down the aisle. Sooner rather than later. I'm so afraid that I won't be able to afford this, and have too much pride to ask my elderly parents who need their money in this given day for health care for help. My Dad is the longest living male on his side at the age of 65. I never got to meet my grandfather, and I hope that my Dad is there on this big day, as I have no uncles or grandparents, and I'd love more than anything to have him be there when I have kids.

  • my wedding wish is to find a way to afford everything that I want for our wedding day. I am not a bridezilla by any means, however I am very traditional and I only plan on doing this once -- I want a wedding that will dazzle and that people will be talking about for a long time afterward. However the part I'm struggling with is the honeymoon. My fiance and I have been dreaming of going to Greece since we first met over four years ago. We both took history classes together about Greek history and mythology, and we have always talked about how wonderful it would be to go there. We have looked into prices for Greece, as well as Egypt (my ultime number one desire to go to - I would give anything to ride a camel next to a pyramid in Egypt!), and we've also looked at cruises of the Mediterranean near Italy as well...but since we are paying for the entire wedding ourselves our dream honeymooon seems too far out of reach. We will probalby end up settling but to me I have always dreamed about the honeymoon and the celebration of our marriage...I see the honeymoon as the chance to go ahead and show the world why your love is meant to be, and I always pictured Tim and I doing that in Greece or Egypt or Italy...someplace we've never been before which will not only signal the start of our new relationship as husband and wife but will be the start to our journey of touring together. We hope to tour all of Europe some day, so it would be PERFECT if our starting point could be with our honeymoon!

  • Hi. My wish is actually for my sister Sarah. Her husband is in the midst of starting a business, so they don't have any income from that yet. She just became a nurse and works full time at a children's hospital, along with working a part time job at a sports retail store. Sarah has dreamed of a relaxed wedding that emulates her relationship with Dave, but now she has begun saying that she may cancel the reception because buying a house is more important. Because of their situation they cannot afford to buy a simple first home, and to have a simple low key reception. My wish is that she recieve some sort of assistance with her reception. We are all trying to help them, but we do not have much money to contribute. I am actually making her flowers, and helping her with the invitations.   • Dan and I have been together for over 16 years. We have four amazing children and I have finally agreed to marry him.
    
    I grew up dreaming of the day I would meet my mom and dad, unfortunately, I found out that my mother was murdered and my father is unknown. Siblings are unknown. I have sealed social services records along with 3 different birth dates.
    
    My unknown heritage and lack of answers hurt for many years. Dan had asked me twice before, but having no family, I could not bear to marry without my mom and dad to be there.
    
    This last time that he asked me to marry him, my kids were old enough that he had them there. The whole thing was thought out, and kind of was a disaster as my 2 year old spilled her drink all over while he was trying to have a family dinner, my 15 year old daughter had nothing on the menu to eat as she is a vegetarian, my 10 year old boy only wanted french fries, and it was buffet day, for $42.00 per person, which I refused to pay for.
    
    Dan was stressed out and took us home to order pizza, saying that he was just trying to have a nice family dinner. On the way home, he pulled over by the side of the road, got the kids out and then pulled me out and asked me to marry him. My daughter was sobbing, my 14 year old son, kicked behind Dan's knee and told him to get on one knee, then I said yes and gave him the wrong hand.
    
    It was the most romantic proposal I could have ever imagined and would never change it for the world.
    
    My daughter was so happy that I had said no both times before so that we waited until our family was complete and all there together to witness it. I realize now, through the honesty and love of my daughter, that I already have a complete family. I imagined a void that was never really there, but it was truly a blessing and worked out in the best way I could have imagined. Y dreams absolutely came true-My family WAS there when I was proposed to, and WILL be there when I get married.
    
    I am so excited to finish the last step in our Happily Ever After, I already feel like the luckiest woman in the world!
    
    My Wedding is going to be February 19th, 2011 in Mexico with my Family and a few close friends.
    
    My Wedding Wish would be that my guests and I could all visit kids of the dump and help prepare food and shelter for them.

Due to medical conditions and the high cost of my medical bills, my fiance and I had to only invite some family. I am a paraplegic who has dealt with several problems over the year, and this year had to go out on unpaid medical for 8 weeks....last year I was on medical for 14 weeks.     4. I would absolutely love it if I could wear a train but because of the back of my wheelchair....I think it would be impossible. I thought about trying to find someone to make a train on my wheelchair but everyone I talk to say's it wouldn't look right.

  • my wedding dream is for my special day to end in a special trip - to see my best friend in the whole world at her home in New Zealand. We met when she was working at the NZ embassy in Washington DC and after her 'tour' was over she returned home. We remain extremely close, but haven't seen each other in 7 years now due to the fact that we live in opposite corners of the world. She is marrying a few months before I do, and it would be such a great celebration for us both to see each other and meet each other's husbands.

  • My Wedding wish is not for me but for my cousin. I just got married a few weeks ago and she is getting married next May. To my surprise my parents had put money aside for my wedding, I am the only child. My cousin does not have that luxury. Her mother is ill and on disability and her father doesn't have the money. Everyone is chipping in someway or another, whether it is helping find venues, a contact,paying for something, whatever it may be. I know this is going to be her special day but I would love to be able to give her something special and she wouldn't have to worry about cutting corners and getting something she would love, like her cake.     I met my fiance' about 12 years ago. He was married at the time and I was in a relationship. We became good friends and we all would go out to do things together. I ended up moving to the other side of the state and lost contact with him. I had tried to find him and after six years of searching online, I finally found him through his cousin. I am so glad I was able to find him.
    
    We were able to talk and reconnected in July 2009, he proposed in September and we are planning our wedding for April 24, 2010. He is a disabled vet and a father of 2. I am a mother of 3. We are paying for our wedding ourselves. We are having about 80 people, still trying to secure a site though (around the Pittsburgh area).
    
    I live outside of the Philadelphia area and is lives outside of the Pittsburgh area. We try to see each other every other weekend (it is hard to have the distance between us). We are trying to find a house together as well.
    
    Our wish is to be able to go to Hawaii for our honeymoon (in July) but not sure if we can afford the wedding, house and the honeymoon. It would be a dream come true. Thanks for reading our wish.

    Where to start, I can write how much I believe Me and my fiance' deserve a beautiful Wedding, yet to be honest everyone deserves it. I can tell you how we have been together for 13 yrs, and due to his health (Lupus & heart Issues) and are finances we can not afford a wedding that we would like to have, yet so can everyone else. I won't tell you a long story, I will just say how much it would mean to me and him to finally be married with the memories of how a wedding could be if funded properly. I wish to be married outside on a beutiful warm day, with the ocean in the backround and the sounds of the waves lightly flowing over the sand. Around 5:00pm or just as the sun is to set... It would be wonderful to look into his eyes as the sun is shining on our faces holding eachother close, knowing in our hearts, it could not be any better than such ! I really love the idea of having a beautiful wedding, yet my reality may be city hall, and a piece of paper for proof, missing that dreamy memory. So I will wait it out, and hopefully the chance at something wonderful will come along, a raise for me, the nurse, or a promotion for my fed ex Man. I guess all in all, we truly are soul mates, and now a days couples get married one minute and divorce in a second that follows, not many take the time to understand that relationships are work, we are not the same couple when we first met, people change, feelings change, ideas of what it the realtionship should be changes, and as for me and my hubby to be, well lets just say even through all the changes we still love eachother just as much as we did the day we met, only now we think about all the things we will do as we grow old together. Like how we have both had knee surgires, so one with a walker, the other with a cane, tripping him along the way LOL ! Is that not what it is all about, finding that one special person you can follow to the end of your or his/her time, in love always ? To whom ever wins this chance for a wedding of thier Dreams, Congrats.. We all deserve that Special wedding, and all the memories that come along with it !

But of course my wish would be help with my wedding dress or a honeymoon. The dress cause I want to look like a princess and the honeymoon because my honey and I have been together for 6years we have 4 kids and need a get away. I love my kids but it would be nice to go some where romantic and remember that feeling of us.   • My daughters dream wedding is on a cruise shipwith her family and friends. She is 30 years old and has has life theating medical problemss. She has missed out on life do to men dropping her do to her disability but now has her true love . We don't have the money to help her for a wedding but do to the fact that I thougt that I would loose her altogether and she is a only child I want to make up for her for and what she lost. Medical bills took most of my money to help her. Please think about putting her on the top of the list.If anyone deserse another chance it is her. I didn't think she would ever find such a caring, loving man. SHe has no children do to her disablility so it is just her and him. They met in high school but didn't get together until later in their lifes. They are like two peas in a pod but knows that the only way to get married is to go to the justice of the peace but I think that is so unfair. I am sorry it was out of her control. I would like to surprise them with the wedding she has always dreamed about.They have found a new drug to help get her disabilty under control and she has to have a shot in her belly every two weeks or she gets to where she can't walk and her bones fuse together and that can make her have a heart atack . I want to have her walk down the isle becasue 9 years ago her bones in her feet were breaking and she couldn't walk. Now she ison a new drug and there isn't any telling if it will last a life time or if it is just temp. At this point you couldn't tell there was anything wrong with her unless she tell you. She is a beasutiul sweet girl with a big heart. PLEASE HELP.

  • My fiance, Jeff, is a car guy. He began working on cars with the neighbors as a child. After high school he worked for 7 years as a mechanic before going back to school to get his journalism degree. He now has the ultimate "guy" job: he's an automotive journalist. He works from home, and every week a new car is dropped off in our driveway for him to test drive for the week and review. I love that his work makes him so happy.
    
    I wish that I could incorporate his love of cars into our wedding. He's really just going with the flow in terms of the wedding plans, letting me choose everything: all of the decisions are up to me, because he wants me to be happy with everything. His main concern is that I get the wedding of my dreams. That's the kind of guy he is -- he worries about me first, and his wants and needs come second. So, my wedding wish is to have his dream car be the car to pick him up to take him to meet me at the church and then to take us to the reception. Since the reception is being held at the hotel, we wouldn't need the car after being dropped off at the hotel. The reason I need help with this is because his all-time favorite car is not a very common car, it's not something that I can just rent from any rent-a-car place. Jeff's dream car is a 1964 Ford Lincoln Continental convertible with Suicide Doors (preferably in light blue with a white top).
    
    I've been thinking about how to get this car for our wedding for months, and I haven't been able to come up with anything. I've searched rental car agencies in the New Orleans areas, spoken to vintage car collectors... when I saw the link to your contest again today I thought maybe you might be able to help me give my fiance a gift that he truly deserves.   • My wedding is scheduled for October 2010 in Pala, CA. My dream is that I can get all our family and friends from the East Coast(where we are from) to come out for us. My worst fear is that my parents won't be there (due to health and financial reasons). My mom and sister both suffer from chronic lyme disease which is very painful for them. My stepfather is the only "bread-winner" in the house, thus I am sure it is going to be a strain to make the trip. I would feel awful if they did not get to see this day that would be 7 years in the making.

  • My fiancé and I have been together for 10 years and have finally decided to take the plunge. Two years ago, my father was diagnosed with stage 3 Multiple Myeloma. Since then there have been several joyous moments within our family, and I feel like these moments are keeping him going. Jake and I plan to wed in Maui next summer as that is one of my father's favorite places on earth, and is where my older brother, his wife and their son reside. Its been a stretch to even decided to get married there, as Maui is expensive, and neither Jake nor I make very good money. My father keeps trying to pay for things, but a) he doesn't have the money to do it and should be saving it for his healthcare and month to month expenses, and b) Jake and I don't want to have a large traditional wedding (because we cant afford it), we just want a day to stand before our families and God and be united. My father envisions a wedding his eldest daughter deserves, but his daughter just wants him to have the strength to give her away. I've read a few of these entries, and I feel like a jerk for even entering, but I guess that's the beauty of a wish. If I could wish for something, anything, it would be that my father's cancer would magically disappear, that money would grow on trees, that Jake would pick a wedding party (see web page for a giggle), and maybe with a stroke of good luck, we would have a honeymoon.

  • I am preparing to marry the most amazing man, and I really wish my Mom could be there with me. My father disappeared with me and my brothers when we were small, and it took us 25 years to find each other again. Now that I have my mother back, it would just complete the day to have her there with me. She has met some hard times and we just don't know how we could make it work. That would be my wish, having my mom there for the first big thing in my life since we knew each other again.

  • My wish is to 1) Be able to afford my wedding as we are planning a wedding in Tulum Mexico and paying for it ourselves while I'm also trying to finish school and work 2 jobs. 2) Most importantly to have my family there with me, I haven't been given the 100% that they are able to go because they may not be able to afford the trip and I'm trying to help out as much as I can but paying for the wedding and my family just isn't possible.   • My wedding wish is that we can have a very amazing day while incorporating the two stepsons I will be bringing into my life. My fiance has the boys full-time so while I am planning the wedding it has been challenging to balance living in a house with them and taking on that parenting role. Most brides are the center of attention during their wedding planning time but I have to run a household, nuture two boys and give them the attentnion they need while also trying to save money to pay for a wedding without going into debt and paying everything in cash. My wish is to be able to pay for everything without putting anything on credit card while raising my two future stepsons and making sure they get the love and attention they need.   • I found out is was pregnant 2mo. into my engagement. It took the the excitement away from the wedding and the pregnancy. With the expenses of the baby its pretty hard to puchase anything extra for the wedding. With the baby due in Feb. and the wedding set for Aug.2010 were in a crunch. My dream wedding is for us to be able to afford the basics. Location for ceremony and reception with both focusing on an Asian Theme. Purchase a wedding gown, pay for the cakes with each layer and bridesmaide dresses,groom to compliment all differnt colors. Overall it would be a great thing for us to have someone bless us

It's taken us this long to get here but we are finally getting married next month. As much as I would want to give her a grand church wedding, that is something that would have to wait since we don't have the finances for it. We will be having a civil ceremony at the Old Orange County Courthouse in Santa Ana, Ca. with just our immediate family as guests. We're trying to do everything under $1000 and it's been quite tough. We're spending about 100 for both wedding bands, 100 for the ceremony and license, 100 for a dress for her and since we won't have much more of a budget if we get a cake, we're scrapping that too. That leaves us with about $700 for a dinner reception for about 25 people. We still haven't found a reception place that can accomodate us with that small of a budget. So, although I know it's really not that unique, I hope you can find us a place so I can at least give her something nice on our wedding day.   • My finance and I have been together for almost five years and have put off getting married for several years because we just couldn't afford a wedding. Well, we have finally been able to start the planning and paying for our wedding that will take place on March 20, 2010! We are having to skip many traditional things that most people are able to have at their ceremony and receptions like music and food. My family is rather large and I always dreamed of having a really nice dinner that all of my family could be apart of because none of them are that wealthy and don't get to go out and eat at nice restaurants and I would love to be able to give them something that they would enjoy at my wedding.

  • I already feel as though my dreams have come true because I am engaged to the most amazing person I have ever met. I truly believe that he is the one God intended me to be with. He is my best friend, and I cannot wait for our wedding next October so that all the people we love can celebrate with us. My parents have never had much money, but even though they live paycheck to paycheck, they have bent over backwards to make sure that I never missed out on anything. When I told them I wanted to get married, they replied that they would "find a way" to make it happen. I know that I am already so blessed, but weddings are extremely expensive and any help I could find would only make it easier on them. My wish would be that my parents not have to pay for my entire wedding by themselves. They are wonderful people and I hate adding to their financial stress (not to mention I have three siblings). I am hoping for a beach themed wedding, white and blue, nothing to extravagant, just simple and classy. For some reason I felt the need to leave this comment, but I wish that everyone on this page could have the wedding they deserve.

  • When I met my future husband,he was going to school to become a barber. I really didn't like him. We met while I was getting my hair done for a hair show. He tried to speak to me and I waved at him with my pinky. He was intrigued. While walking on stage, he was standing on the side line and he said, "There goes super star." I was intirgued. After that the rest was history. I would love to get married actually recreating the night we began our history. I would love to have a modeling stage, decorate the room in blue, white, and silver, and have our wedding party sitting on the stage. I think it would be fun and creative. I would also love to have design a reception dress that favored the one I wore on stage, but longer and more elegant. I think that having friends and family recreate this moment with us will make it even more special. We plan to get married Sept 2011. I can not wait. It will be a fun day.

  • I met my fiance 6 years ago. We were both in long term relationships with the wrong people. When we both became single, we started talking more than usual. We didn't know that we both had very deep feelings for each other. I had been head over heels in love with my best friend for years, and was afraid to tell him how I felt for fear that it would ruin the amazing friendship we already had. To my surprise, one day, he said he couldn't hold back his feelings any longer and told me that he cared for me so much more than just a friend. He said that he has been in love with me for so long, not just "like"..he knew he Loved me and he thought that it would scare me away. He couldn't live every day seeing me and not being able to tell me how he felt. My mouth dropped, and in that instant every feeling that I had pent up for the past 6 years just poured out.
    
    He is the man I always dreamed of marrying, and he told his mom many years ago that he would be happy if he could marry a woman like me. He never thought he would have the real thing! We just got engaged November 3rd, and we just moved into a new rental house November 7. I believe there are no coincidences, and everything happens for a reason.     We cannot afford a wedding, or a house, or anything at this point. Yes it would be amazing to have the dream wedding..and make this reality love story into a true fairytale..but I am grateful and truly blessed to the future wife of Michael Hunneman. Our love is all we need to be happy! Congratulations to all you woman who have found the man of your dreams!

  • Normally this would be coming from my fiance', but since she is under so much stress with finding a job, being forced to find a new place to live in Arizona, planning our wedding and ME being 3000 miles away in Maine, I thought I would surprise her with this email to you. On the bright side of things, our dear friend has offered his home to us as the venue site and was willing to split the costs of the caterer because he is having a party at his home on the same day as our planned wedding date of Sept 4th 2010. On the flip side of things, not only is the distance of our families a problem, but what are we to do with our friends. We originally started out putting together our guest list which was somewhere in the range of 100 people. But with finance issues and the venue site being an outdoor event with porta potties, we decided to change our guest list to just family. Bringing our wedding party to around 20 people. My fiance is an amazing woman with great ideas and to top it off she was an event planner herself (imagine her frustration). This is so important to her and it would mean the world to me if I could help make her dreams come true. This is my first effort in making that dream a reality. She deserves it more than anyone.....

  • I'm wishing it won't rain on our wedding day. I'd really love to have a great backup option that still highlights the beauty of our venue...but costs are prohibitive.

  • I get married to the man of my dreams in 6 months and to make the day really special we're missing one item from our wedding, as everything else is booked, a really nice car, preferably a limo of some kind to pick me and my maid of honour up and take us to the wedding venue then to take us (the happy couple!) and our 4 children on to the informal reception we have at my parents house. This would be my dream! Hope you can help....

  • I told my future husband about this and I really wanted to know what his wish was. He has given me everything I could possibly want and does not ask for much in return. The one thing that he asked for was for a dream honeymoon. He didn't say where nor did he say when. We are both teachers and have one son together. If we won this great opportunity I think it would awesome. We do have a wedding date (excatly) but I do know it is going to be either Spring break (2010) or the summer when we are both off. That is the one thing we would love to win.

  • Me and my fiancé in a long distance relationship. I live in Vladivostok, Russia and he lives in NYC, NY. We're so far away from each other. We already applied for a visa but this is so hard to wait! My wish is to get my visa as soon as possible and just be with my fiancé all my life.   • This sounds so dumb but I would like everyone to understand where I am coming from! My fiance grew up playing baseball, he has played his whole life, he played D1 ball, he even went into the minors. He recently hurt himself and is now in the 'real world' working a job he loves. He got his baseball dream and his family and friends got to join him. I have always supported him - even when we were so far away from each other. We've been together almost 5 years and will be wed in about a year!
    Although most people think the wedding is for the bride, which most of our wedding is centered around - me, I want a special time for HIM. With the recent unexpected passing of Grandpa (his grandpa, my fiance is the youngest of 4 grandchildren), I would like to honor the wonderful memories Grandpa and my fiance had together. The biggest thing they had in common, of course, was their love for the game. Grandpa knew how much my fiance loves his idol ~ Cal Ripkin, Jr. There would be nothing better than to have Cal come in, just for a few minutes, and surprise my fiance. This would be a total take back as 80% of our guests are baseball players and 99% of our guests know how much he loves what this man stands for.
    That is my corny wish (or shall I say my wishes) for our wedding.
