  • For our 5th anniversary of dating, my then-fiance gave me a BEAUTIFUL multicolored strand of pearls in shades of ivory, pastels, and pale pinks. It's my favorite necklace and I knew I'd wear it on our wedding day. My dress was bright white, and the colors of the necklace popped...I was even able to match the colors of the roses in my bouquet to the pearls to tie them in for a hint of color. I also wore a pair and diamond-and-pearl earrings and a gorgeous pearl bracelet to match. They're my favorite gemstone, and there is nothing like them.

  • Since my name means "pearl", I have always had a special fondness for these "lights of the ocean" and knew they would be a perfect symbolic accent for our wedding. While I had started to design a custom necklace incorporating our signature colors in saphire blue stones and bright grass green freshwater pearls, with assorted natural pearls, I was presented with an opportunity to wear not only the strand of pink-tone pearls my mother wore with on her wedding day, but also the antique ivory strand my great-grandmother recieved as a gift from my great-grandfather, Walter, in 1921. Unwilling to choose, I am going to layer all 3 treasures and really celebrate their uniqueness and their beauty at our wedding!

  • I just met with my jewelry designer, Anahita, of Silver Moon Trading Company. I wanted to give my girls jewelry that I helped design with each one of them in mind. Anahita is working with me on cost (not always using Swarovski crystals or freshwater pearls) to keep me within my budget for each of my 6 bridesmaids. It was such a productive first meeting! I had each of my girls check out her site (she has so much listed) and pick a style that they liked. I brought the pics of the jewelry to the meeting and Anahita, with a description of each dress, and a few words to describe each of my bridesmaids really got creative on me.
