Hey, thanks for clicking! I’m Mary, an East Coast liaison for mywedding.com. I ended up over here after bouncing between coasts and occupations for a number of years, landing at times as far away as Italy and Hawaii before settling down after graduate school in the great state of Virginia, which claims not to be a part of The South, y’all. I live here with my wonderful and patient husband, and our two lovely and impatient children.
I was an English major in college, and am therefore fluent in the language and also still in debt: both qualities being equally important to my work with mywedding.com. I have been involved in event planning in the past, and proudly identify myself as a life-long bargain hunter and party connoisseur. What does this mean for you, mywedding.com reader? Simply put, I have an arsenal of creative wedding planning tips to share with you to help you and your fiance achieve your ideal wedding on a reasonable budget...and I’ll probably show up at your reception if you don’t watch out, especially if you’re having an open bar. Additionally, I have a Master’s Degree in Education, which means that I spent many thousands of dollars to learn how to exercise patience and positive discipline when people are behaving badly and talking out of turn. What in the world does this have to do with wedding planning, you ask? Just wait until your unruly in-laws get involved.
