Bo & Lisa

Our Story

About us

We met in 1999 at Cardinal Newman High School. We sat next to each other in math class for two semesters, and started dating later that year. We then went to the University of Florida for undergrad and grad school in accounting. Lisa joined Chi Omega sorority and Bo joined Kappa Alpha fraternity. We had a great time in college and enjoy going back for football games. Go Gators!

We are now living in Atlanta and really love it here. We are both auditors (we do not do taxes!)- Lisa works for PricewaterhouseCoopers and Bo works for Deloitte & Touche.

We love to travel, especially to the Bahamas. Bo is an avid reader and history buff, and Lisa loves to play sports. We also enjoy boating, fishing, going on roadtrips, watching movies, and hanging out with friends. We love entertaining people and having guests, so please let us know if you'd like to visit!

Our engagement

December 30, 2007

After a while, it became a question of when, not if, we would get married. We talked about it often, but Bo had been telling me for quite a while that he wanted to wait until we were both finished with school before we were engaged. So I prepared to wait until he graduated, but secretly hoped that he would surprise me before then. I had no idea what was in store...

A few weeks after graduation, I moved up to Atlanta. I had a very long to-do list since I had moved and was starting work a few days later. The next day, Bo told me he wanted to relax and hang out at the apartment for the rest of the day, but I insisted that we cross a few things off my list. He couldn't come up with a good reason to say no (not one that he could tell me at the time anyways!), so he reluctantly agreed to run errands with me. Bo was constantly checking the time, but I was completely oblivious that I was interfering with his plans for the evening and that he was starting to get nervous about it. We finally got in the car to head to somewhere else, and Bo turned to me and said, "Ok, we need to have a little chat... because I was actually planning on proposing to you tonight." (WHAT!? I smiled and started crying) "But, the place where I had your ring made was closed the entire time we were home for Christmas, so I don't have the ring yet. I made dinner reservations for us to celebrate at Chops, and I would still like to go and have a nice evening with you. So... we can't run anymore of your errands, we need to go home and get ready for dinner." At this point, I was crying hysterically and was lost because I wasn't paying attention to where I was driving! We finally found our way home, and then had a terrific dinner at Chops. When we got home later, Bo told me to put in a movie and open a bottle of wine, and said he needed to run out to the car to get something (my ring!!). I thought nothing of it, since I was convinced he wouldn't be able to propose until he had a chance to go back to West Palm and get the ring. He came back inside, sat next to me and asked if I had a good time at dinner. I told him it was wonderful--it's not every day I'm almost engaged! Then he asked, "Do you know what would make it even better?" And that's when I knew what was about to happen.. he had a funny look on his face and his hand in his pocket. He got down on one knee and said how much he loves me, that he would be honored if I was his wife, and asked me to marry him! Somehow through all the tears I managed to say yes!!

I still can't believe I bought his story. He completely tricked me and I didn't expect it at all. It was absolutely perfect!
