It all began on a summer day in 2003. This was the summer before Lacy's freshman year of high school, and Brandon's junior. Lacy was at Kristin's house when she got a call from her boyfriend asking to hang out. Austin came and got them and brought them out to his house for a day of fun and when they arrived several of Austin's friends were already there, including a handsome young man named Brandon. The two had an instant attraction and flirted throughout the rest of the day. Following this wonderful day, the two became friends on Yahoo messenger and chatted it up throughout the remainder of the summer. As school began the two spent their time together before school sitting on the bench in front of the gym and walking with one another between classes. In fact, the two were actually enrolled in the same Spanish and Geometry class. Just a few days into the school year the two were chatting on Yahoo when Lacy decided it was time to make this relationship official and began hinting for Brandon to ask her out. Brandon finally caught on to Lacy's hints and asked her to be his girlfriend on August 27, 2003 through the wonders of the internet. The two continued dating throughout high school.
June 20, 2008 started out just like any other day.
Lacy and Brandon had been back from vacation with her parents for a few days and were planning to spend Brandon's day off in Eureka Springs. But a few days before Lacy looked into the weather and cancelled the outting because of a forecast of rain. This outting was Brandon's plan to pop the question and with it spoiled he had to come up with something else.
So on Thursday the 19th Brandon asked Lacy if she'd like to come over the next morning and clean up his house some and then just hang out the rest of the day. Lacy was fine with that, so the two went to bed, Brandon, anxiously awaiting the next day and Lacy completely unsuspecting.
The next morning Lacy didn't dry her hair, didn't put on make-up, threw on a pair of gym shorts and a t-shirt and headed to Brandon's to do some serious cleaning. She got to Brandon's house and opened the door to a completely spotless living room. She gave him a funny look and said, I thought we were cleaning later? He just smiled and said he'd already got it done. It was then that she noticed a song playing from the iPod dock, and it was one that they had both talked about just the other night. And then she spotted a scrapbook sitting on the freshly cleaned coffee table. She went over, sat down on the couch and opened it. The first page was a sheet of zebra print paper, then she remembered that he had bought that for her just the other day when they were at one of her favorite scrapbook shops, then she turned to the second page where little red stickers spelled out "Will You Marry Me". She looked up and Brandon had pulled the ring box out from his pocket and was on one knee, Lacy threw her arms around him and said yes, both crying. Then of course the next thing Lacy said was, "I wish I would have dried my hair!" So before showing off the rock to all their friends and family Lacy went home to spiffy up.
Originally the date was set of December 12, 2009, but not wanting to wait forever, the couple moved the date up about 2 months to October 17, 2009.
