This is just a small token of words of appreciation to our family and wedding party who has blessed us through the years. Please read how we met and how wonderful everybody is =))
I have known my parents for about 31 years now. If you don't all know,Tim is not my real dad, he is my step-dad, but we call him dad because he is our DAD and always will be. He raised us since I was 4 years old, he didn't want anymore kids but God blessed him with three more, he married my mom and got the full package =). I remember my dad use to play with us all the time, make us laugh, play funny songs on the guitar to make us laugh, and do pancake were he threw us on the floor and rolled over us like pancakes. I remember one time as a little girl I use to love limos, he brought one to our house after an event he had, picked me up from my bed because it was late at night and brought me outside to sit in it. I was so excited I couldn't believe it. Or when I left my favorite teddy bear in Mexico and he went all the way back some how and got it because I was so heart broken, that teddy bear was my best friend. Those are the many reasons that I love my dad. He is so smart, level-headed, talented and giving, and funny, and a goof ball. Thank you Dad for everything and I love you so much and will miss seeing you everyday!! Don't miss your princess too much !!
My dear mother how I love her so. What a great example she has been to our family. Things that I remember about her growing up, coming home and having fruit and snacks waiting for us to do our homework, cuddling with me and holding me during my hardest times and her always checking on me to make sure I was okay. Our many talks about God and other life issues. Her being behind closed doors praying on her face before the Lord, interceding for her children and her family, and every morning without fail giving everyone in our family a Blessing, saying "the Lord watch you and protect you and bring you home safety and have a good day". And we all say Amen and she walks us to the door every morning. My mother is amazing, she is so talented, creative, funny, and has such a servants heart, loves the Lord. She has always taken really good care of us, I don't ever remember her screaming at us, she never raised her voice at us, and is so caring and loves us so much. She is an amazing house wife, and such a great example of what a mother is. When your sick she is there taking care of you, making you soup, helping you with whatever you need. What you see with my mom is what you get at home, she does not change, she has shown me so many things in life and how to love and serve God, searching for the most important things in life, God, being obedient to the Lord, and living by faith, and most important your amazing home cooked meals ;) Thank you mom for everything, I will miss your face most of all. I love you so much!! Parents I appreciate the times you sent raising me, thanks for teaching me to love God more everyday and life is nothing without Him.
This couple right here...well what is there not to say? Greatest parents anyone could have, they care, they support, they comfort, share their wisdom and they always love. Their sacrifice for their children through out all these years is not forgotten nor under appreciated. My parents are some of the coolest people you will ever meet, I always say they have more of life than I do, weekend getaways, date nights etc. while I'm at home or work they out having a good time (not like that...they love Jesus). If there was one thing I would thank them for, it would be...MODELING what it means to walk with Jesus, not matter what life throws at us, this couple understands that Jesus walks through with us. You all will enjoy their presence on our Special Day...trust me, they will hit the dance floor, so don't be shy to get down with them!
I have known Jana for like 25 years, she is surely one of kind and I love her so much for so many reasons. She is driven and smart, compassionate and funny, she makes me laugh all the time. We have some crazy, funny stories between both of us. She has been waiting for me to get married for I don't know how long, she actually prayed for it so I wouldn't go overseas again and God heard her prayer this past year. My parents tell us that we have our own language just as best friends should. My dad says that when we get together all he hears is laughing and can't understand what we are saying to each other. She will stick up for you and fight for you to the end, she is loyal and true to herself and is a strong women, you can't tell her she can't because she will show you she can. One of the many wonderful qualities I love about her that have spoken into my life, is not to let anybody tell you or your circumstances stop you from reaching your goals. She is a great mom and makes very moment fun and unforgettable as her creative genes are always flowing. She is so crazy, but in a fun funny way that keeps me saying OMG Jana. I don't know what I would have done without her in my life through youth group years and school years. We loved dating best friends so we could always be together and made it a point to find cute boys everywhere we went.. We were the Culver City girls and we loved every second of it.. She will always be in my life and a true friend to the end. I love you Jana Banana you have been a friend even at times when I was not, and your determination for our friendship kept us going strong. Thank you friend I love you so much.
I met Bethany at LIfe Pacific College in 2004. I remember I would see her around she seemed shy and kept to herself. It was not until one of our friends Annette or me, I don't remember wanted to do a hip-hop dance for our school that I approached Bethany to join. I remember she so easily agreed to help us, one of the many many talents she has.
Her patience towards me to show me the routine day in and day out for hours, should have been a strong indicator of what kind of person she was from the beginning. She is a teacher by heart, compassionate, patient, loving, caring, creative and talented in so many ways. I can look back and see how God put everything together and I can see why He brought her into my life when He did. Through our college years we spent many hours dancing, laughing, shopping, praying, and crying together, she was my right hand women. Where ever Beth was I was, and where ever I was Beth was. We were so close people made up names for us, The Trinity, as our friend Annette was in the mix too cuz you can't separate the three. She often tells me that she would pray that God would bring her a friend, and not only did He answer her, but He decided to bless me as well. Beth is the most loyal friend I know, you can trust her to the end, she rejoices with you and cries with you. She has been at every important event in my life, and I can not imagine my life without her. I feel so lucky and blessed that she would chose me as her Best Friend. I feel honored beyond words to be a part of this girls life, and that she would confide in me. She makes me proud and she is an inspiration to all. Love you Bethany you bless me beyond words friend.
I have known Cindy for like 8 years now. I met her at Life Bible College when we both decided to go on our first mission trip to Thailand. That trip together was where our friendship got started and blossomed. As we trailed the mountains in Thailand and journeyed through caves together I fall in love with her huge heart for people, her friendllyness and her encouaging, servants heart, and her love for people. We have so much fun together talking about God, life and being real with each other. I knew that whenever I told her something she would never judge me or point a finger at me but would love me unconditionally. Her friendship to me blesses my heart. Through these years I have seen her get married, have a baby and move away from me. Even her being so far away she still takes the time to think about me and call me at least once a month, talk about a good faithful friend. I have gotten close to her family and her mom has become another one of many second moms. We quickly developed a friendship that has grown into a close one at that. I love Cindy for her ability to laugh, her sweet kind heart, her ability to care and listen, and empathy for people and her ability to never judge and her ability to make people feel like they can be real with her and nothing less. She never makes you feel bad about anything I say to her personally but is so encouraging. I love you my dear Cindy, your friendship, your calls have always made me feel so special and I am so blessed to have you in my life !! Your amazing friend I could have not gotten any luckier with you =)
I have knew Erika for about 9 years now, we met when we started going to the same church. Erika is my funny, easy-going , goofy , animal loving, good cook, loving mother, and gorgeous of course with perfect skin. Erika and I have spent many nights laughing, hanging out and having our serious talks, then laughing some more. I love her so much for her big heart, her motherly ways of always wanting to take care of others and being so warm. Erika has the ability to go anywhere and make friends fast because of her amazing personality and being so down to earth. I love her because I know she is a loyal friend, never forgots you and is such a grateful friend. She would give you the world if she could , she is so caring and compassionate and giving, and an amazing cook !! I feel so blessed even though she moved away from me again to be her friend. I know that with Erika once a friend always a friend, and you just pick up where you started from, no matter the length of time apart. She blesses me with her big heart and smile, and all the fun she has with her babies. You feel loved around her and you know it too !!!
I remember this last time she had her last baby I was there a day after to see her and my beautiful little one. I felt so special that she wanted me to come and see her, and spend time with her during this time. I held that baby in arms and fell in love with her right away. That moment right there is one of my best memories that I will never forgot, Erika you made my day by allowing me to rock her and spend time with her that day. This is why you are still my girl and I love you so much !!!
Kim is my future husbands one and only sister. We have knew each other now for 8 years and have grown a friendship with each other. Kim has a deep love for her family and that is very evident and has a strong acknowledge of what family means. Kim and I have gone on many shopping trips together where she will buy out stores and I will come out with one item! Kim is very adventurous, smart, organized, and talented, and generous as I have benefited from her many shopping craziness as she so kindly has given me many many pairs of shoes!
I have appreciated the time Kim has spent with me and making me feel accepted into their home and lives of the family. Kim has always made me feel like part of the family by always inviting me to family events and thinking of me. Kim's strong belief in family gives her the ability to find those with no family, and wanting them to feel a sense of love and family, as her parents have taught them to build and see how important that is. Thanks Kim for being as accepting as you have been to me and not looking at anything but someones character.
Love you girl you !!
I have knew Brittany for about 3 years now.she is my baby brothers girlfriend and she has become part of the family. . We all love her so much because she is sweet and kind and resourceful.. But the main reason I love her is because she loves and treats my brother so well and she can see what a great guy he is. And she is a great girl too !! Brittany and I have gone on many double dates with our boys together. They are so much fun. We love being silly together and just sitting around and talking about silly stuff, eating together and watching movies together also.
Brittany is very thoughtful, nice, forgiving and kind. She loves our family and our craziness that we bring. It's been so much fun watching our relationships grow and transform before our eyes. She is down to earth and spontousness. She has a strong sense of family and committment, we love and welcome our new addition to the family :)) love you Brit !!!
"His words alone can break a lesser mans jaw." Thats all there is to say... Just Playing! Thats a little insight into our relationship, this quote is from a commercial we love. Having Chris around means you will laugh, lol and hahaha, thats just one reason why I love having this guy around. When I tell people that I am getting married soon, first they ask me When? then they ask me, Who's the Best Man? I say my brother and they always say, really? I don't know why thats show shocking? Honestly I couldn't think of anyone better, He's the man for the job. When I was younger, I would always wear my brothers clothes, I thought he was the best dresser ever, always neat, clean and stylish, he used to have this jacket that I loved and I would always ask to wear it and one day he just gave it to me and I was so happy, Im pretty sure I loved him more that day, it wasn't because I had the jacket, its because it was my big bro's. Thats why he's my best man, because thats my big bro who I always looked up to.
Brandon is my nephew, I used to refer to him as my little nephew but this guy is growing up on me way too fast! He calls me "Uncle Bri" but he's more like my little brother. I'm very proud of him, he recently graduated from High School and will be attending Wiley College in Marshal, Texas this next fall. I still remember when he was about three years of age and loved the Chevron Toy Cars and he would sit in the hall way and play with those cars for hours... that was then and now he's too cool for school but I love 'em. Brandon may appear shy at first but once he gets to know you, talking, cracking jokes and laughing happen on a regular basis. Love You Geeb! (his nickname that I coined).
I first remember meeting Sean at LIFE Pacific College in the dorms, one day I was bored so I took a stroll around the dorms and Sean happen to be in his room with the door open just chillin, so I said wassup, we started talking a little and I remember I saw picture on his desk of a black male, I asked Sean, "who is that?" Sean replied, my uncle! from that moment I knew I would be friends with this guy. The years go by and we end up working with each other for The Ignite Academy for two years, there we had the opportunity to grow in leadership together, we traveled together, served communities together, laughed, cried, laughed some more but the best times were hanging out in our dorm rooms watching movies like Snatch or No Country for Old Men, and the conversations that would come up which were so encouraging and beneficial, those are the times I will remember. Sean is the type of guy that can do anything you ask of him, I dont know how but he always pulls it off, that's why in my book, he's "the man for the job", no matter what is. He faces life with integrity and diligence and I admire that about him, no wonder he's one of my groomsmen!
Oh and I can't forget the late night 7-11 Slurpee runs!!!
We call him Mathis! I met Mathis during my years of trying out for the college basketball team (fun times) we always clicked, our first year in school we didn't hang out much but that all changed the next year, I still remember his em-prov comedy sessions in the dorms...hilarious! Over the years we've had the opportunity to see each other grow, in the Lord, in leadership and in life and one thing I can say about this man is that, He is such an encouraging friend to have, one who challenges you, respects you and makes you laugh. This is a true friend right here.
I first met Max when I visited LIFE Pacific College in May 2003, the summer before I started school. I remember seeing him with his baseball cap-- slightly tilted-- baggy jeans and over sized shirt and I thought... oh wow! this guy dresses like me. He probably thought the same thing? Max says I claimed to have forgot his name when I actually enrolled in school but with the past behind us we became good friends, we were serious roll dogs, literally, he had a car and I didn't so he was my ride everywhere. I have always admired Max's passion for the things he loves, music, family, friends and he handles all of them very serious. I miss the times we used to room together, all our hours of sitting and writing rhymes together, recording songs and eating Alberto's (Mexican Restaurant) at 1am. FYI Max is one the most talented writers I have ever met.
I would say I was properly introduced to Dero when he drank Max's orange juice during lunch in the Cafe while in college. No wait, maybe when he used to literally greet people with a kiss on the cheek, like the Bible says. This is what it's like to be around Dero, you never know what will happen or where you would end up? I have never met someone who can adapt as well as he can, to any situation, it truly is a gift from God. On top of that, this guy sings, plays key board, is a good athlete... just one of those do it all kind of people and that's only a shadow of the man he is. I find it admirable that Dero is always honest and vulnerable, not afraid to try anything or go anywhere, it encourages me to do the same. I still remember going to apple bee's for his birthday, and let me tell you, everyone there knew it was his birthday...that's all I'm saying"!
