Acadian Village
Acadian Village offers an authentic vision of how the people in South Louisiana lived in the 19th century. Some of the homes are actual originals donated by the families who's ancestors actually occupied them, others are replicas.

Downtown Lafayette has tons to offer! They have Festival International in the Spring, Downtown Alive every weekend in the Spring/Fall and they even offer movies in the park! Downtown is also full of clubs/bars for the young and the old! Plus they have several great restaurants! Most of the restaurants downtown are also local! We really enjoy going downtown with our friends, it always ends up being a great night!

Like your food with a little extra kick to it? Do you often grab a bottle of Tabasco sauce? Look closely, on the label it says Avery Island! Avery Island is about a 30 minute drive from Lafayette. You can tour the Tabasco plant! They have been making Tabasco in Avery Island since 1868! I have never been before, but Cory has and he has tried Tabasco ice cream! They have a wide variety of products made from Tabasco you can try! They even have Tabasco dark chocolate!
