Getting to know us
The Bride
Well, I was born in Salinas, California on December 19th, 1987. I grew up mostly in Overland Park, Kansas. I am an only child and I love it. I graduated from Blue Valley Northwest class of 2006! I graduated from Cosmetology Training Center in March of 2008, I am licensed by the Louisiana State Board of Cosmetology. I work at Refinery Downtown and I love my job! Cory and I have a miniature chihuahua/rat terrier mix, Oliver, he is so hyper/high strung but he brings so much happiness to my life. In my free time I like to: travel, spend time with my family, cook, snuggle with my dog, learn new things, go to the lake, watching football, shopping and of course spend time with Cory. I absolutely love The Little Mermaid and my guilty pleasure is Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. I must admit I am a bit unorganized but surprisingly I am on top of everything wedding related. The small and simple things make me happy. I am addicted to Burt's Bees lip balm. My family means the world to me, they always cheer me up and make me laugh. I cannot wait to share my family and my life with Cory.
The Groom
My story started on March 9th, 1988. Born in Lafayette, raised in Arnaudville and for a while, Henderson. I spent more than 13 years at Westminster Christian Academy in Opelousas (or Belleview if you want to be Hoitey Toitey about it), that's preschool until I graduated. To reiterate, I graduated from WCA with Humanities Honors. Where I wanted to go to college was never really a question in my mind. I wanted to stay near home, even though I really don't care for Arnaudville OR Henderson. It is the people, namely my family and friends, that kept me in town. My family and friends are very important to me. I love my family to death. As for friends, I have a few different groups of them, the lines of which sometimes blur, but regardless, I love them all to death and would do anything for them.
So, the abridged version of my college career goes something like this. I go to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette for Public Relations and I LOVE it. The curriculum comes easily to me and it seems like I'm running through my undergrad years. I will earn my Bachelors Degree in December of 2010. After that, I will start Graduate school in January 2011 at ULL. ULL is pretty much my second home. In addition to attending classes there, I also write for the school newspaper, The Vermilion. I am a staff writer as well as the weekly Music Columnist. I absolutely love to write. ULL is also my employer. I am a part of the notorious group of UL Bus Drivers. Bus driving is probably the greatest job I've ever had.
Music is my absolute greatest passion, I play guitar, bass, some keys, I sing, sometimes scream, and everything in between. I would rather go blind, mute and dumb all at the same time than go deaf. Seriously. Music is my life. I'm also very much into movies. I own more than 300 and that is not enough. I also love to read. My weakness is beverages. If I could sustain myself on liquids alone, I would. Coffee, Coffee Coffee, and more Coffee.
Of course, I can't forget about my amazing fiance Brittany. She keeps me in check sometimes. Anyone that knows me knows that I can be nuts at times. She is my balance and I am hers, or so I hope. She and I have the coolest dog ever, Oliver. He is OUT OF CONTROL. End of the story. Pretty much, I just love life and all it has to offer. I can't wait to share it with Brittany.
