I LOVE this place. It has a little of everything in terms of healthy, organic, local food. They serve breakfast and lunch foods with a great salad bar, homemade breads and desserts, and FANTASTIC muffins. If you are looking for tea, do not miss out on their Curiosity Tea. It's delicious.

Looking for breakfast? Mirabelle's serves GREAT breakfast with all Vermont foods. Their coffee is wonderful and their triple chocolate scones are my favorite. They serve anything from small breakfast items to large meals. Don't miss out on their desserts. They are to die for.

Halverson's is at the top of Church St. and appears very dark inside, but if the weather is nice they have a great back patio and space on Church St. to sit outside. Halveron's has great burgers (along with the Church St. Tavern, and Vermont Pub and Brewery) and french fries.

This Chinese Restaurant is one of my parents' favorite restaurants for romantic dates. It has incredible Chinese food and is a little pricier than some restaurants, but you will not be disappointed by the food. In terms of dress, it's not incredibly fancy, but nice slacks should be worn.

Red Onion

Red Onion is known for their gigundo sandwiches made with fresh out of the oven breads. They have many sandwich options, but my favorite is by far the "Vermonter" with sliced green apples, red onions, cheddar cheese, turkey, and special dijon sauce. The cookies here are my favorite in downtown Burlington and compare well with the "Great Harvest Bread Co." on Pine St., and Kingler's in a booth on the corner of Church St. and College St.

Manhattan's is for folks who want some great thin pizza, some pool tables, and a beer. It's on the corner of Main St. and Church St., and is a favorite of the locals. It's known for its unlimited wings on Sunday and Tuesday nights for a set price . . . a popular place for Madrigal folks to go before singing. Other great pizza places include: American Flatbread (across from City Hall Park), Mike's Pizza for pizza by the slice (on Main St.) and Ken's Pizzaria (on Church St.). There is also Papa Frank's in Winooski, which is by far my favorite pizza place, but a little out of the way.

Located on Church St., this restaurant has fantastic Italian food and a nice casual ambience. There's seating inside and outside, as is the case with most restaurants located on Church St. I have fond memories of racing my brother Greg in pasta eating contests at this restaurant. They also use beautiful rooster pitchers here that I adore.

Ben and Jerry's

If you want to feel like a true Vermonter, you have to eat Ben and Jerry's ice cream and not feel guilty about paying $3 for a small cone. Nothing beats Ben and Jerry's. It's rich, creamy, and Heavenly made from the best cows ("wonderful, wonderful, cows," Grace Watters). Bryan claims he came up with the Pina Colada flavor during a contest at the Burlington Boat House for new flavors.
