Make it a vacay! Enjoy all that beautiful Madison has to offer and discover why our college days were so wonderful here. Madison has a variety of things to do and see so we hope this helps make your trip for our wedding into a memorable vacation!
A great start to the day is the Dane County Farmer’s Market. Described as the largest producer-only farmer’s market in the United States, everything for sale is produced locally by the person selling it.
The market takes place on Saturdays and Wednesdays during the summer and is easy to find. Simply look for the state capitol building and start walking around it! The market of approximately 150 vendors encircles the entire capitol square of 13.5 acres.
Nearby there are other events that take place at the same time. These often include street musicians, booths for non-profits, political information tables, and arts and crafts for sale.
State Street is one of the main roads that lead to Madison's Capital building. It is filled with unique shops, restaurants, and bars. It is a great place to spend the day eating, shopping or just people watching!

Never been to Madison and want to go grab a drink? Here's an idea or two for you;
Grab a drink at the KK where we first met, then head to Brats and get a...brat. Turn the corner and go to the RedShed and drink out of one of those old mason jars, then go next door and get a fishbowl or some bacon and Hamm's at Wando's. Afterwards, head back to State Street and go to Mondays and grab a couple stiff ones and play some darts. This is Haskell's favorite bar and the reason for so many good nights had in college. Now go across the street to the Pub and shoot a game of pool. Further up the street is Paul's Club where they have a huge fake tree inside - its pretty cool. The Orpheum and the State are nearby and worth a stop. Ok, now go home...you've had enough. Good luck.
