Growing up, I was never the little girl who dreamed about my princess fairy tale wedding. But there has always been one thing that I knew I wanted if I ever got married, and that is to do it at the Crosley. Because this amazing home is where my father grew up, and it has always felt like my one tangible connection to my grandparents who passed away when I was very young. My grandfather, Freeman Horton bought the home after Powel Crosley (an inventor who designed gorgeous cars and radios, look him up!) sold it. The first time I remember seeing it was when I was about 12 and the house was falling apart (it had been sold to a developer who went bankrupt) and it broke my heart. There was no reason to think I would ever be able to get married there, but the idea popped into my head that day and it never left. It is totally crazy that now the home is an event venue and in beautiful condition. So I will be getting dressed in the room where my mom used to sleep before my parents were married. My favorite room is the upstairs bedroom where my grandmother slept (separate bedrooms!) This home is so special to me, and I am so excited that everyone will get to share in that!
