Da5id and Ceci moved to Long Beach in October of 2004. At that time, Amanda had been living in Long Beach for about 6 years and David was in the process of buying a condo in the downtown LB area. For anyone that may have received a Christmas card that year, you may remember this moniker. This came from the name they came up with of the Notorious Long Beach 4. Some might say they were pretty aptly named.
Amanda's last name... or rather, a misspelling of Amanda's last name.
The correct spelling is S-E-Y-M-O-U-R.
She gets this a lot.
The Willamette River is the main body of water you see in Portland.
Just so you can fit in with the rest of the webfoots... it is pronounced Will-AM-ette. I'm hoping you already know how to say "river" and I won't even start on how to say creek.
Following in the trend of how to talk... and this isn't because we're thinking you don't speeka ze Inglish.. but simply because Oregon is... well... peculiar.
In Oregon, first of all, we say Ory-gun. That part is easy.
If you see the name "Aloha" the absolute LAST image in your mind should be hula girls. Aloha in Orygun is pronounced Ah-Lo-Ah. We're not related to the Polynesians and none to good with spelling.
If you see a sign with the word "Tigard" on it... please remember that we don't like Winnie the Pooh. Tigard isn't a place where Tigger lives... but tigers. It's said, Tie-Gard. But more like "Tieg'rd" as we aren't good at pronouncing vowels.
Oh... and my name is CLOUSE... not Klaus, Claus, Clousey, Clouseau... sounds like mouse. Just to make sure.
And Ceci's name is Virtue but really Mendez and that's a whole other website in the making.
