We decided that it would be fitting for Chad to introduce the ladies, and for Amy to introduce the gentlemen. Although our wedding party is small, these four people have had a major impact on our lives.
Matthew (Matt) is Chad’s little brother. I have heard many stories of the fights and battles that have occurred over the years, I think my favourite one is when Jamie (our groomsman) hit Matthew in the head with a baseball while Matt was running to first base. When Matt turned around he was so angry that instead of taking his frustration out on Jamie, he chased after Chad with the baseball bat. He didn’t catch him - good thing Chad was fast. I don’t think Chad would win today!
With age came wisdom and the relationship between Matt and Chad evolved. Chad is unbelievably proud of his little brother, considering the first photograph to be seen upon entering Chad’s first house was that of Matt in full camouflage gear. Although their relationship may have evolved, the competition between them remains fierce. Both Chad and Matt are in constant battle for the award of renovator of the year.
Chad was ecstatic when Matt agreed to be his best man, I was equally thrilled. I knew of Matt in high school, but was reintroduced to him on New Years 05-06. Since being reintroduced to Matt, we have become friends while on many adventures, traveling the world, fishing, golfing, dinners, parties, and partaking in a social drink…or two (Carol included).
I am excited to have Matt alongside for our next adventure, and support us in our journey as husband and wife.

Sheri is Amy’s little sister, but we call her the Moose. Amy has told me a lot of funny stories about the Moose. When she was little they told her she had a crack on her bum and it wasn’t normal. Moose was really upset about her deformation. To this day it still bugs her that they teased her about it.
Amy loves her little sister and is very proud of her for everything she has accomplished. They are more then sisters they are best friends.
I really like hanging out with Sheri, she is funny and loves to have a great time. I was so excited to tell Sheri that I will now be her big brother. I told her there are a lot of things I have to do to make up for the past 24 years, when she didn’t have a brother to harass her.
We are very happy to have Sheri in our lives and look forward to having her at our wedding as our Maid of Honour.

Jamie (Gootch) is Chad’s closest friend, he really doesn’t say a lot. In the first four or five months of knowing Jamie he might have spoken two dozen sentences to me, even though we hung out nearly every weekend. Jamie grew up alongside Chad and according to Massey folklore; he was quite the hockey player.
In recent years Jamie and Chad have spent many days in deer stands, and fishing in boats and on the ice. The one thing that keeps these boys together and the closest of friends is Jamie’s skill at hunting deer and catching fish. I really think Chad keeps Jamie as a close friend simply to live vicariously through his successes while hunting and fishing.
Jamie still doesn’t say much, unless I offer to cook for him. He is probably the only person I have ever cooked for who has ever taken his leftovers home. I can’t wait to have Jamie stand with us, hopefully the restaurant will pack his leftovers *wink*.

Wendy is Amy’s best friend. Amy and Wendy have been friends forever. They have been through good times and bad time together. They have moved away from each other to grow and gain experience but they have never grown apart. When Wendy and her husband Steve announced they were moving to Sudbury Amy was so excited, I think we drank a bottle of wine. Amy and Wendy always find time to call each other and let one another know what’s going on in their lives.
I knew Wendy Sauder in high school. Amy and I had been dating only a short time when I decided we should take off for a little while for our fifth date. I went a head and booked a trip leaving 48 hours later. We were so caught up in the moment, and forgot that Amy was to be in Kitchener on the Saturday to go wedding dress shopping with Wendy (Amy was Wendy’s Maid of Honour). Having not seen or talked to Wendy in six years, I called her to reintroduce myself to her then tell her Amy her Maid of Honour will not be attending the dress shopping. Surprisingly, it went over well.
I very happy to have Wendy with us on our special day, she always brings a smile a bottle of wine and snacks!
