Jason and Chelsea met at the Houston Rodeo Cookoff on Friday, February 23, 2007. Chelsea was with friends visiting different booths and just having fun! Jason was doing the same thing with his friends from back home in Corsicana, Texas. Chelsea and Jason literally locked eyes from across the room and smiled at each other. Jason immediately came over to introduce himself and the rest is history. They exchanged phone numbers that night, spoke on the phone the very next day and went on their first date a few days later to a sushi restaurant in Houston called 713.
Through Chelsea's Eyes:
The first thing I remember when I first saw Jason was his amazing smile...the second was his gorgeous hair! I instantly knew that something about Jason was different. He was so warm, friendly, and genuine. I would find out later on our first date that Jason was funny, hard-working, intelligent and ambitious. I can remember the exact location I was when Jason called the next day, what I was doing when he called later that night and the entire outfit that I wore on our first date. Those first few dates were so special, but I feel even better about the fact that each day with Jason is better and better. Whether we are sitting on the couch playing with Tucker or in the car driving down I45, we can always have a great time. Jason can make me laugh harder than anyone else in the entire world. He truly is my best friend and I feel so blessed that I am going to be his wife and laugh with him forever. I can't wait to see what the future has in store for us as husband and wife.
Through Jason's Eyes:
I saw Chelsea standing on the other side of the room and although I typically would not do this, I felt comfortable and quite compelled to walk over and introduce myself to her. I didn't know it at the time, but I was about to meet my soul mate, best friend and future wife. We had an instant connection and I knew right away that I wanted to get to know her better. I loved her smile, her laugh and the sweet and sincere way about her. She was genuinely special. We had our first date the following weekend at 713, a sushi restaurant that she and I both enjoy. She looked stunning and as my buddy Farmer has pointed out, I definitely out-kicked my punt coverage. It was this date that we began to learn how much we had in common and how much I enjoyed being with her. When I look back on the day we met and think about how easily we could have missed each other and what my life would be like without her, I feel truly blessed.
