We met in Jamaica on June 21, 2008. Amber was there for a friend's wedding while Chris was there on vacation with family. We owe our meeting to both of the groups we were with because without their persistence, we would not have started talking.

As it turns out, the day that we met was Amber's last day on the island but it was Chris's first day there. That night we stayed up all night on the beach and talked until the sun rose the next morning. Chris gave Amber his contact information and when she returned to the states, she emailed him. Upon his return, Chris asked for her phone number so he could call her that night.

At that point, Amber and Chris started their long-distance relationship with Amber in Dallas and Chris in Charleston. In January of 2009 Amber packed up her things and headed out east to be with Chris in Charleston. In March of 2009 Chris proposed and the wedding plans began...
