Some ideas about where to go. A few of Chris' favorite spots
My favorite place for cheap eats! Best burger in Honolulu! Just a 10 minute drive or a 25 minute walk from Waikiki. Nothing fancy -- order at the window, eat in the parking lot.

Where ALL the locals go for shave ice. Don't stick with the boring. Try crazy toppings! A Honolulu landmark.
Hanauma Bay Education Center, off of Kalanaianaole Highway (Route 72) near the eastern tip of Oahu
This nature preserve is one of the most amazing snorkeling spots on Earth. Be your own Jacque Cousteau as you swim with a million different colored fish.
Just outside of Honolulu, Pearl Harbor is must-see for any history buff. The giant memorial is of a scale the dwarfs the structures in DC. The sunken ships are both beautiful and sad.
What great culture doesn't have some sort of fried dough dessert? Or breakfast, as the case may be? Malasada's are Hawaii's answer to the donut. Crispy outside, soft inside, and covered in sweet goodness, they are mouth-watering heaven, especially after a morning of surfing.
Malasadas were adopted from the Portuguese laborers that came to Hawaii to work the plantations inthe late 1800's. However, these hole-less donutes have taken on a Hawaiian flair and are now a distinct part of the Hawaiian culinary culture.
Did I mention they only cost $0.60 each? I love cheap tasty food!
