Highland Park and Dentzel Carousel
"In 1977, Meridian's Dentzel Carousel and Carousel House along with Highland Park were placed on the National Register of Historic Places. In October 1986, the Department of the Interior designated the Highland Park Dentzel Carousel and Carousel House as National Landmarks. This honor was given to 11 carousels nationwide, with Meridian's being the only one located in the South."
Dunn's Falls
If you feel like getting close to nature, Dunn's Falls is the place to go. It's approximately a 15 minute drive from Meridian. I remember swimming there as a child. It's very picturesque for you aspiring photographers.
Jimmie Rodgers Museum

"Jimmie Rodgers, the father of country music, was born and raised in the Meridian area. The museum displays the original guitar of "The Singing Brakeman" and other memorabilia of his life and career, as well as railroad equipment from the steam-engine era."
