Serendipity

It all started when we were small children living in Woodward, Oklahoma. My family had just moved there from Texas and my parents decided to join a bowling league to meet people and get aquainted with the area. As fate would have it, his parents were on the team mine had joined. Every week our parents went bowling we tagged along and played in the game room all night. Eventually his family packed up and moved to Elk City, Oklahoma.

We meet again!

Several years later we each make our way to Enid, Oklahoma where we went to high school together, and didn't even know it. We had the same group of friends, but never met. He dated my best friend! Yet, we still never met. I began dating a friend of his and that's when I met him. We met up at starbucks for a drink and to hang out and he was there with his friend Daniel and I walked in and couldn't take my eyes off him. I thought he was gorgeous, and I made it a point to do what I to do to get close to him. We began talking and hanging out more and more, we even made frequent trips to Woodward to visit our families that still live there. On the way back one day we received a call from his mother. She started explaining how I looked so familiar and my name sounded like something she had heard before. After hours of thinking, she realized it was the little girl from the bowling alley! As soon as I told my parents they put the puzzle together as well! We had no idea, all we knew was that we got along very very well and we were each others best friends. There was something there and we couldn't place our fingers on it. Soon enough we began dating and fell madly in love.

Decisions.

After a year of dating, we were talking one night about getting married and things of that sort. We were laying in his bed and it just seemed perfect and right. He leaned over and looked at me right in my eyes and didn't say anything. I asked him what was wrong, and he said "Nothing, I just can't believe how much I love you. I never thought I would feel this way about anyone." I just kept looking at him and he asked me if I would spend my life with him. I, of course, said yes! Later we went and he let me pick out my own ring. He has great taste in jewelry, but I am glad I got to pick out my own ring. We picked the date August 21 for a specific reason. My birthday is November 21, 1988 and his is December 21, 1987. We figured it would only make sense! (And no one has an excuse to EVER forget ;-) ) hahahaha. It's been a crazy couple of years, ups and downs, but we have come out on top time and time again! I couldn't imagine spending my life without him and I cannot wait to see what our future holds. We love each other and that is the strongest bond I could ever imagine possible between two people. He said today, "We will be together forever, I love you." I couldn't ask for anything, or anyone, better!
