Cody had told Lauren that he was going on a business trip to Chicago for the week. Lauren dropped Cody off at work on a Sunday morning in order to meet with some co-workers to "prep" for the upcoming trip and carpool to the airport. Little did she know, but he wasn't really going out of town that morning! Lauren was then busy with her family supporting her sister Christy as she participated in the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer 3-day walk. Sunday was the closing ceremonies and after the walk was finished, Lauren's whole family went to dinner at Peohe's in Coronado. After ordering dinner, Lauren's sister Michelle asked if she would like to go for a walk along the water because Carson (Lauren's nephew) was getting fussy. Of course, Lauren was not aware that her whole family was in on the big secret. After walking outside for a minute, Lauren heard a "Hey you" come from behind her and it was Cody, the same Cody that was supposed to have already landed in Chicago just a few hours earlier. Cody proposed right then and there next to the water and misty skyline of San Diego! And through the tears and excitement, Lauren said YES!
