A little bit about us....
I grew up in Miami and went away to live in Rhode Island for college. After school, I had to come back to South Florida because I missed the amazing sunshine and vibrant city life! I'm also an avid traveler and will go anywhere if you ask me to!
Being engaged to Dan has been the best thing ever! We are so happy together and every day is full of laughter and fun. I look forward to our wonderful wedding and a lifetime of happiness with my best friend!
Life started out for me on a little farm in the middle of Pennsylvania. Believe it or not, I hated the long hours and hard work and decided I needed to study hard and go to college. So off to Pittsburgh I went to Carnegie Mellon and then to Philly for work. My best man Wayne introduced me to Miami and I realized South Beach was the place I wanted to be. (So I loaded up the truck and moved to Miami...Beach that is!)
I put myself up for sale at a date auction and lo' and behold one of the prettiest girls in the room bid on me! But she didn't go too high and didn't win. She knew what she wanted and went after it but wasn't going to spend too much! Driven and practical, I knew right then she was the girl for me!!!! We never fight and have so much in common that it just seems unreal at times! Getting engaged to Joyce has been one of the greatest experiences of my life!!
We actually had an engagement weekend! On the weekend of January 18, 2008, Dan told me a friend of his was getting married. He wanted me to meet him after work and join him at the Westin Diplomat in Hollywood for the event. When I got to the hotel, I found out Dan booked a beautiful room for us with an ocean view. There was no wedding event taking place, but we had dinner reservations at a romantic restaurant. This type of planning was very unusual for Dan, so I suspected that he might propose this evening. Well the night came and went and there was no proposal. The next morning, I gently asked Dan if there was something he wanted to ask me. He had not proposed so I thought I would prompt him in case he was nervous. He said no, there was nothing he had to ask me but that I was very special and he wanted me to have a special day. We then spent a lovely day at the Morikami Gardens where I was sure he would propose, yet there was still no proposal. Dan seemed mysterious and I wondered why we were doing all these special events. I was very curious yet couldn't figure out what Dan was up to. Finally, in the evening Dan had me meet him at his place where he had presented me with a beautiful gown to wear out for a special night out. Like I said, these events were all very special yet I had no idea what Dan was up to. We went out to another romantic restaurant that I've been wanting to try. We were having a lovely evening when Dan finally proposed and asked me to marry him! Of course, I said yes and wondered why he had waited all weekend to do so! Dan just wanted to surpise me and keep me guessing all weekend! It was a lovely moment and a weekend we will always cherish!
