Dane and I met in College at Southwest Missouri State University. College was such a fun period of both our lives and we were so glad to get the chance to meet eachother during this time!
I first noticed Dane in my Microbiology Lab. He was sitting across the room with his back facing me, but I could still see his face! I thought he was extremely good-looking but for some reason I felt that maybe I would not be his type, and I probably wouldn't get a chance to talk to him anyway because he sat so far away. I didn't really get a chance to talk to him in that class BUT we had another smaller class together called "Environmental Biology" where we randomly got assigned to do a project together! We met at a Starbucks to brainstorm, exchanged numbers, and he asked me if I could help him with the project a few days later. I was very nervous to go over to his apartment, and I wanted to make sure I helped out because we had peer evaluations. When I was at his apartment, I started helping out and he asked me if I had a boyfriend. This took me by complete suprise because I really had no clue he was interested in me! And why would a guy ask me this question!? :) Well I said no, and his reply was "That's really suprising." At this point I was very very nervous. But the night went on and we talked and worked like normal. We remained friends till the end of the semester. I enjoyed going to class so that I could see him. I stayed busy playing tennis and going out of town for tournaments, and Dane stayed busy with his MCAT studying and working part-time. At graduation, we sat next to eachother, he came to my graduation party and as I walked him out, he hugged me, gave me a kiss on the cheek, and we told eachother that we would keep in touch. At this point I didn't know when I would get to see him again which made me sad! We started dating that summer. :)
I met Liz in in college during my senior year in a microbiology course. Although this was the first time we formally met, I had always noticed her. It seemed like we always had classes together, but we never talked, but I would always look at her. I thought she was the most beautiful person I had ever seen, but I never got up the courage to ask her out. I just figured she was seeing someone, I mean if she wasn't, I would have been surprised. When we were randomly assigned to a group project in one of our microbiology classes our senior year, I thought to myself "This is my chance." We first met at a Starbucks to go over the basics of our presentation. I asked her if I could have her number in case I needed to ask her something about the presentation, and I got it. Pretty smooth!! Later that week I asked her to come to my apartment to help with the project. I could care less about that, I was just glad to have her over. We mostly just talked that night and ever since then, I knew I really liked her. Our last semester in college we had a class together and we sat next to each other. Liz was always talking to me during class, while I was trying to take notes. I didn't mind though, I was actually pretty excited. That entire semester I kept trying to ask her out, but was always shot down. She was really busy with tennis and school and never seemed to have time to go out, that's what I hoped anyways. I guess things happen for a reason. Once we graduated we started talking to each other almost everynight on the phone. She was in Dallas, and I was in Missouri. Perfect timing to start a relationship, 1500 miles apart. Regardless of the distance, everything has been perfect and I couldn't be happier. I can't wait to marry the woman of my dreams. I love you Liz!!
