(for those who care!)
I've been officially engaged for four
whole weeks...with eight weeks left until the wedding...so I'm 1/3
through my crazy, short engagement! :)
What have I accomplished? Well, allow the bride-to-be brag briefly.
We
have: a date, a time, a church, a fellowship hall for the reception, a
wedding party, a wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses (all of which
have been fitted for alterations!), invitations ordered and in (I'm
working on addressing and printing out inserts), informals ordered, a
photographer (yay for Zach Niles!), a wedding cake picked out, along
with a grooms cake, flowers finalized, a guest book picked up, napkins
for the reception personalized, a going-away dress bought, premarital
counseling arranged, a china pattern picked out, and registries
registered for (Target and Bed, Bath, & Beyond)!
There's
still stuff to be done, but the biggest, most stressful parts of it are
behind me. It hasn't been easy, with Daniel still up in Ohio, but he's
been helping as much as he can from up north. I really love and
appreciate his input, and it's been fun planning despite the distance.
I'm just looking forward to the day that I don't have to think about
table linens and cake toppers, flowers and tuxedos.
Daniel comes
back in two weeks for nine whole days, which will be fantastic!
Saturday we're headed to East Texas for a party at my aunt's house so
Daniel can meet my family and long-time friends (many of whom can't
make the wedding), Sunday we're picking up our washer and dryer (given
to us by my great-aunt), and then Tuesday we'll probably head to
College Station to scout out an apartment. An apartment!! I'm so
thrilled! The rest of the week should be pretty relaxing, although we
do have to pick out tuxes for him and his groomsmen while he's in
town...but that's not a big deal at all.
Thank you for all the
prayers going up on our behalf...we truly do appreciate all of them
during this stressful wedding season! :)
