Daniel & Kellyn

Wedding East

Our east coast wedding was on 11.30.2007 in Baltimore, Maryland.

The original wedding was going to be on April 5th, 2008, in Hollywood, California. Everything was going as planned until I got a phone call from my mom. She told me she had breast cancer and would be having surgery the next day. Soon after, I quit my job and moved back to Maryland to take care of my mom. There was NO WAY I was going back to California without making sure that she was ok. Her chemo and radiation treatment was almost 6-7 months long and, of course, we postponed our wedding. Since we decided to move to the DC area, we had a small, intimate ceremony in Baltimore with our families. Daniel's parents, grandmother and his sister flew all the way from Maine and Idaho. It was very emotional and meaningful for all of us. We were so happy that day!

When everything happened with my mom, I was devastated and extremely sad. What I didn't lose was faith in my mom, the support from friends and family, and, most of all, Daniel's endless understanding and effort to make everything ok. He was still in California and I was in Maryland ... even after we had "Wedding East." During this tough time, we went through many emotions that we never would have expected. It was very hard. I believe that, because of what we went through together, we're stronger and can overcome whatever obstacles we might face in the future. Bring it on! And, I want to again thank Daniel and his family for all of their support. I am so grateful to be a Lombardi.

Now, my mom's done with all of her treatment and we're settling down in the DC area. We couldn't be any happier! We're still having the wedding that we were planning last year, so I'm back to our wedding planning!

I got a very plain white dress from Filene's Basement. My dear friend and MOH, Jennifer, did my makeup and hair for me. She also surprised me with a beautiful Calla Lily bouquet. Thanks Jennifer!

We invited my family and friends in Maryland to have casual dinner with us after our ceremony. The food was good and their service was spectacular.

Boston

We had our mini-honeymoon in Boston. We flew with Air Tran and as soon as we got seated, this flight attendant came and told us to move to first-class. Daniel secretly asked the flight attendant to announce our mini-wedding and they offered us drinks. It was a very short and awesome flight.

On the first day, they had their first snow in Boston. I LOVE SNOW! It was beautiful and we walked around the Boston Common and enjoyed the snow.

**Fun story**
After our little romantic weekend, Daniel had to go back to CA and I came back to Baltimore to take care of my mom. It was very sad to say bye for a while. :( There was a guy who was sitting next to us on the way to Boston and he congratulated us. When I was on the way back to Baltimore, I ran into the same guy again. He was surprised and asked me why I was coming back home alone. I briefly explained why but he seemed a little confused. ^^
