Hampton Inn
Hampton Inn is the closest hotel to the Whalehead Club, only a 9 mile drive. Although they won't block rooms or give us a discount, mention AAA or AARP to get a 10% discount.
• Call the hotel directly at 252.453.6565. Do not use the 800 number or the Internet.
• Advise whoever answers the phone that they are coming in for the BENNETT-OVERCASH WEDDING to be held Friday, May 11, 2007 and that you would like to make a reservation.
• Call as soon as possible for the best availability of inventory, rates and night minimums. Mention AAA or AARP memberships for a 10% discount.
• There is 72-hour cancellation on all reservations. As long as a guest cancels 72-hours prior to arrival, there will be no charges to their credit card.
The Inn at Corolla Light
This is a very beautiful inn on the Currituck Sound. They offer AAA, AARP and Military Discounts. They also offer special rates, call for more details. (They are really nice people!)
Since there are so few hotels in the area, rooms cannot be blocked off for special events. Rates at this establishment range between $99-$239 per night for a two night minimum. Please book early as rooms will fill on a first-come, first-serve basis
The wedding cermony site is about a quarter of a mile from the inn.
The Sanderling Resort & Spa
The Sanderling Resort & Spa on North Carolina 's Outer Banks touches the shores of both the majestic Atlantic Ocean and the serene Currituck Sound. It's a nice place, but a bit pricey for those on a budget.
The resort is located 14 miles from the wedding ceremony site.
Vacation Rental Homes
Corolla is a vacation rental destination, so you might want to consider going in with friends and family to get a rental home for the week.
Please keep in mind when booking:
• Rental fees depend primarily upon proximity to the water and size of the home. For example, a waterfront home may be much more expensive than one that is two blocks from the beach (but still provides beach access).
• It is advisable that you look for houses that are in the Corolla area. This will ensure that you are close to the ceremony and reception site. If you are given a choice of neighborhoods, look specifically at the Whalehead area or ask your realtor for the closest houses to the Whalehead Club and Currituck Lighthouse.
