Wedding Photoshoot Was A Blast!

On Wednesday, 4th March 2009. We went for our photoshoot at Putrajaya.

On 27th Feb we went to Keep Gallery to select my gowns and to tie up all the details for our wedding photoshoot. Felicia, our wedding coordinator went with us as well. Tried so many gowns.. (it's a pretty tiring process honestly), but good experience. :) Thank God I'm only going to get married ONCE!

I'm very excited about that photoshoot. Of course! Cos' it's the 'once in a lifetime' photoshoot.

Prior to that, I did some research for the concept and style that I want for the photoshoot. As part of the prep, selecting the right location is very important. Well, there aren't many choices for wedding photoshoot. All the bridal house in town will bring you to the same few locations where they are familiar with. And I've seen similar photos in weddings that is taken by different couple, different bridal houses yet the same style. So, I just want to make sure that ours will not be 'another' same one. It took us quite a while to decide on the location. We even went to search for the location ourselves and found Mine's Beach Resort as a potential photoshoot location. But due to the risk of using that place without permission (as you need to be a hotel guest to get the approval) and our photographer might not be familiar with that place... I'm considering other location.

What I wanted is to have photos with diverse style and backgrounds. Sea, Forest, Beach, Sky, Grass... colorful. Anyway, after much thoughts and considerations. The night before the wedding shoot, I told David that maybe we should just go to Putrajaya (initially that was plan B, Plan A is Mine's), because I think the photographer is more familiar with that place. However, to make our photos 'unique' and different from the rest, I've thought of some ideas inf using some 'props' to make the photo sweet and special.

I wrote down a whole list of things (props) to bring and pass it to my wedding 'props team'. Hah! They ran around KL and searched for them, and FOUND everything. You will see those stuff in our wedding photos :)

And so yeah, that's the preparation part. On the actual day, 10am is our makeup and hairdo session. We arrived at Keep Gallery, Sunway. My makeup artist, Crystal (from KG) came and started our makeup session. I told her “Can you make sure that I don’t look like someone else after the makeup?” HAHAH!

Cos’ I’ve seen so many of my friends’ wedding photos, they look ‘too’ different. David and I preferred to be natural. And well, she did a good job. I like the makeup and hairdo.

12.30pm, The photographer, Benny Koo had a short discussion with us to know what we have in mind for our wedding photos. I shared with him the concept and that we don’t want the same style and background like many other couples especially at Putrajaya. He understood perfectly.

Well, around 1pm, we started our indoor studio photoshoot. Koo, who has 19 years of experience in photography, guided us very well throughout the photoshoot session. He is creative and funny.

About 2pm, we head towards Putrajaya, dropped by McD to packed our lunch. Upon arrival at Putrajaya, we started to shoot at different locations, using the props we have brought. In the afternoon around 3pm, it started drizzling! David and I prayed! We told God that we need a miracle. (As you know, everyday it has been raining for the past few weeks!) even our photographer has also warned us about the weather. He said, with weather nowadays, you might not be able to get clear sky and if it rains, many things you have planned cannot be done. Well, we trusted God to look after us. True enough, after a few raindrops… the rain stopped. The sun came out, the sky is clear. And, it turned into a SUNNY DAY! Praise the Lord.

We then continued our photoshoot as planned, having a great time as there were a few of my members, family members with me. We really enjoyed every bit of it. David and I enjoy ‘posing’ too. Ha!

We finished our photoshoot at about 8.10pm, packed up the stuff and left for Sunway. Everyone is tired. Super tired. It was really not easy! But it was a great and fun experience! We came back to the studio, changed back to my own outfit, went for a ‘celebration’ dinner to celebrate the success of the photoshoot and thank my beloved runners/props team that made the whole photoshoot journey so fun and easy for us.

We went home. Crashed. Thanking God for that beautiful day in our life. J
