Two weeks before my 30th Birthday, I had been complaining about the big Three Zero..I was depressed. We left to go eat at O'Charly's around 9pm. After dinner I asked what my birthday gift was. He refused to tell me. He said.. You have to be home tomorrow until 3pm. When Fed Ex comes. Then you can have your gift.

Of course I tried to coax it out of him. He wouldn't budge. It was about 10pm and he says.. hey lets go to Walmart.. I need something. We ended up staying there for 2 hours! I had to ask him to leave!

I remember the drive home, looking at the clock on the car radio. Thinking.. omg.. its 12:11am. Feb. 11th 2006. I am officially 30. yikes

We get home and I plop on the couch... Again.. depressed. And when asked what was wrong.. I didn't want to bother Rick with more of my whining about being 30. So I told him .. Nothings wrong.

He got down between my legs.. and said. "You sure"? Would you like to know what your gift is? Trying to cheer me up. My eyes got wide.. and I smiled.. yes. Leaning towards him. Followed by " NO NO.. I always ruin my surprises.

By now he had his hands together on my lap. " You know I love you right Deanna. he said I am like.. Yes.. Then out of NO where.. he opens up this beautiful ring in a box and says.. Well would you be surprised if I ASKED YOU TO MARRY ME RIGHT NOW!!!

I flipped out. My eyes were bigger than ever. I could not make words come out of my mouth. All I could do is hide my face because the tears were coming without warning.. Then as I managed to snap back into reality.. the only words that I could say were.. How, What, When, What.. HOW.. When What, How.. Where..

We hugged and he was teary eyed too. It truly was a perfect moment. I have NEVER been surprised in my life. I always find out what I am getting for my Birthday. And this was the biggest surprise EVER!!

I forgot I was 30 for 2 FULL weeks! LOL
