Breanna and Derek chose to surround themselves with the people they love the most on their wedding day and they are so lucky to have this amazing group of people support them as the get married. Read more about this awesome group and how they are all connected below.
Cal is the Theater Director at Montgomery Bell Academy where Derek went to high school. Derek worked with Cal on almost a daily basis in the theater, in the classroom, and as his academic advisor. Since high school, Derek and Cal have kept in touch and try to have lunch at Calypso Cafe each time Derek is in Nashville. Without a doubt, Cal has been a strong friend, mentor, and inspiration. Derek and Breanna are proud to have him officiating their wedding.
Since meeting in 2005 as Freshmen in college, Derek and Joe have been best friends. They spent 4 of the years since living together, and often traveled during college to foosball tournaments. Joe and Derek developed their passion for foosball together and invested many hours huddled around a table late into the night practicing, or playing long best of 5 matches.
Mitch is the other side of Breanna's brain, basically. They shared a best friend middle school but only knew of each other. That changed when they met their sophomore year of high school. Mitch is more than Breanna's best friend; he is her family.
First meeting as co-workers at Lexington following Derek's graduation from CMU, Derek and Dean became close friends. Much of the friendship grew from their shared experiences at Lexington and lunch trips to Burbank. They both have the same drive and passion for their work, despite how it may run their days long or involve frequent travel.
Ariel and Breanna have known each other forever. They played peewee basketball together as children. Since getting older, their relationship has continued to get stronger each year. They excel abut talking about silly things and watching Mean Girls (or other chick flicks, preferably from the 90's).
Allison is Derek's oldest younger step-sister. Until college, Derek and Allie spent every-other weekend together growing up. Derek always insisted that they play with Legos, while Allie insisted they play with Barbies. Even to the point that Allie bought Derek an Alladin doll one year for Christmas.
Deea is Breanna's younger cousin, but they are closer than that family position implies. Deea used to get Breanna in trouble when she was younger by telling the adults that Breanna wouldn't play with her, even though she had never asked. Thankfully, since they have both gotten older, there is less tattle-telling and more getting along.
Rachel is Derek's younger step-sister. Until college, Derek and Rachel spent every-other weekend together growing up. Rachel now lives in Kentucky at the Steward Home School. She enjoys being around friends and recently won an award for playing Softball at school. Rachel is excited to be in the wedding and be able to twirl in her dress.
Breanna met Arlie at work, and the relationship quickly turned into a friendship over a shared love of almost all things geeky.
Breanna and Derek are currently living with Arlie in an awesome house. They are known to watch a lot of recorded television and occasionally burst into song.
Mallory is Breanna's younger cousin and Deea's younger sister. Breanna sat in the hospital keeping Deea entertained (and giving her a comfy shoulder to rest on) the night that Mallory was born. Breanna pretty much thinks Mallory is one of the most awesome kids ever and wishes she got to hang out with her more.
Autumn is Derek's youngest sister and lives at home in TN. Autumn was born while Derek was a Junior in high school. Derek remembers driving to Clarksville to see her in the hospital after a night of performing in Anything Goes. Autumn has two horses on the farm and in general probably helps out on the farm much more than Derek ever did.
