Doms and I came from two different worlds and backgrounds.
He likes sour, I like sweet! He likes drawing and I like writing. He's obsessed with photography, I breathe letters.
But just as the opposite winds turns, the magic of true loves unfolds and made 2 hearts beating ina different tone, hum in harmony.
It was the year 2006. I just came from a bad relationship. Being fond of writing and blogging, I started a Yahoo 360 blog.
I am not sure if you know about 360, but for descriptions sake, it's an application from Yahoo where you can upload pictures and create a blog and share it to your contacts. Of course, these contacts need to be approved so that they can see your profile and add comments to your blog posts.
Anyway, I was happy updating and updating my blog. I wrote there my frustrations from the recent break-up, I placed bitter songs and poems and I added lyrics to songs that I "feel" I can relate too.
My first few contacts in 360 were my office mates and my former classmates in high school and college. I have a high school classmate named Lady and I added her in my 360 contacts. I thought I was just connecting with her. I didn't know that this action will lead to something more.
Just like any other online social group, Lady has her own contacts. I didn't know what happened next. All I know is that I accepted a friend request from Vinci (now our best man) and a certain person named Doms. I eventually found out that Vinci and Doms were Lady's contact. So, since then I can already see the updates that they do in their own 360 site.
There was one blog post that caught my eye. It was from Doms. It was about Paramita band. I love that band! I love their songs and their music. So, I didn't hesitate to put a comment on Doms' blog post. That was the start of our conversation.
Doms and I first started talking about music. I love Pinoy bands and so does he. He introduced me to other bands that I am not familiar with and surprisingly, I liked those bands too. I introduced him to the series "Rockstar Supernova" and he started watching it too.
Doms is a very sweet person. I can see it in the way he talks to me in 360. Take note, we haven't talked personally yet, just in 360. His comments always make me laugh and he is very descriptive.
He is also a very artistic person. I remember the time when he sent me a file of his drawing. I though it was created with a drawing software, but it was only done in Paint. I checked his pictures already and I was aware that he has an afro hair already. I am really a sucker for artists!
The time came that he asked for YM addy so we can chat online. We talked more at this time. He was there always and I was feeling at ease with him already. Then came the time that he asked for my mobile number. I didn't hesitate to give it to him because I know that he is good person.
Then one afternoon, Doms, asked me if we could meet somewhere and have dinner. Since I wasn't doing anything after work, I decided to meet with him. We met in Megamall and ate in Polo Loco. It was a fun night. It was the first time we saw each other.
Doms was very funny and he has a lot of stories to tell. I instantly felt at ease with him because he was a total gentleman.
From then on, we were getting closer and closer to each other. We would watch concerts in Eastwood or Metrowalk, meet and eat in Gateway and watch UAAP basketball games. I already introduced him to some of my close friends at that time.
What I like about Doms is that he is very sweet! He writes me poems and song lyrics. He will send me his drawings (using paint) and other funny emails. He will always check on me and ask me if I was OK. He explains to me stuff that my mind cannot seems to understand. He always makes me feel calm and protected.
Yahoo Time Capsule is an online storage of images, files or anything that can be uploaded in Yahoo and will be opened in the year 2014. Doms introduced this to me. I placed in the Yahoo Time Capsule a saved file of all our conversations in email, 360 and YM. Doms didn't know I did that.I asked Doms what he placed and he just said "secret".
What he didn't know is that I have the talent to look for information online, I'm a writer/researcher, what more can I say? So, I searched and searched for his entry in Yahoo Time Capsule and I found it! Among all the other stuff that he uploaded, I saw the poems that he sent me uploaded there. What caught my attention was one note that he added and as I could remember he said, "I hope by 2014, when I open my time capsule, Dindin will be beside me. I think I love her already."
This made me cry. I was so touched that a person wants to be with me. This was how I started to fall for Doms.
This was not the first time Doms told me he loves me and he cares for me. Sometimes while talking on the phone or while texting, he will mention that he loves me. I wouldn't reply back. I am a type of person that when saying "I Love You", it should come out naturally. Yung parang, I have no other things in mind or no inhibitions to say I love you back. So, we waited for the right time. I always say to Doms that we will have our time. Just wait.
October 21 to 24, 2006 was me and my mom's trip to Macau. I told Doms to write me emails of what he was doing and what he was up to while I am away. He did that! I missed him so much at that time because we didn't talk or text each other. So, the very next day, Oct. 25, 2006, We met in Gateway and had snacks together. I gave him some stuff that I bought him from Macau and I recounted my experiences in Macau.
When it was time to go home, he brought me to the MRT to wait for the train and we were just talking and laughing. When the train arrived, I had a sudden feeling of missing him again and I told him exactly what I was feeling. He said I shouldn't worry because we will see each other again soon. Just as the train was about to leave already, Doms and I kissed! A simple and light kiss that I will remember forever.
That night, around 10:00 pm, Doms and I were texting and that was time that I asked him what he truly feels about me. And he said he loves me. I told him after that statement that I love him too. I was soo happy that I didn't hesitate to say that I love him. I was so proud of how I felt about him that I told my brother right away that Doms and I are couple already.
From then on, Doms and I became not only friends but also a couple. We love traveling and going to different places. We love trying different kinds of food and we love watching movies and going to malls.
Our relationship became stronger through the years we've been together. Now that we are both working here in Singapore, we became more mature and more close.
Note: This picture was virtually our first picture together. This was taken in Eastwood in Ipanema Resto while listening to Stonefree Concert.
For our 3rd year anniversary. Doms and I planned for different things to do. I suggested we go to Hong Kong and Macau and he wanted to go to KL.
I searched endlessly for tour packages that suits our budget but unfortunately, we didn't find any.
So, we went down to the plan of having two days of celebration.

We planned to shop for our gifts. I bought Doms a pair of Lacoste shoes and he bought me a dress and a pair of shoes. We wore our new outfits in our special day.

Doms and I went to Iluma Mall to watch Julie & Julia. The movie as so hilarious. I was surprised to see Doms liking the movie and actually laughing out loud in certain areas. After that, we went to the nearest church and heard our Sunday mass. I was thanking the Lord for how wonderful the person beside me is. Doms was the greatest gift that God gave me. Dinner came and we tried Thai Express in Iluma. The food was nice but we didn't like the drinks that we ordered.
We decided to ride the bus going home so we can talk. The one-hour ride was heavenly! We talked about our future. We talked about our plans of getting our own place after getting married. I love it when Doms and I talk about our old age and how we will spend our life together.
We arrived home and did our usual ritual of playing Guitar tour in Doms' iTouch. After that we do our next ritual of updating and training our creatures in the iPod application called Creatures.
While playing, Doms asked me, "Mahal mo ba ako?" I said, "mahal na mahal". Then he asked, "Papakasalan mo ba ako?", I said "maski paulit-ulit". Then I hugged him. When I went back to watching him play Creatures, I saw it! The ring!
I was surprised and the only thing I said was "shit" and tears flowed out my eyes. I was so happy and excited that tears went out instantly.
Doms hugged me and kissed me and said "Ayan ha, papakasalan na kita".
I immediately went to take my phone and took pictures of the ring and of me and Doms.
Alvin Dominic Valentin a.k.a Doms or Alvin is the eldest son of Dominador and Rosario Valentin. They are based in Makati ever since and Doms was born and raised in Poblacion.
As a kid, Doms is be part of the "nang-aasar" group. He always tease his classmates and friends. He is a very jolly and talkative person and he is considered as the joker of the class.
Amidst the bully facet, Doms is a very artistic kid. He loves drawing, sketching and painting. He would paint anything that he sees and give the paintings to his mom. There was a time that his drawings became part of an exhibit in Makati and some of his works were actually sold and bought by other people.
Doms college days were as fun as his childhood. He took up Electrical Technology as a scholar in Meralco foundation Institute. His college friends were always with him in times of school crammings, deadlines and the whole day times in the arcade.
Yes, Doms is addicted to different kinds of games! He spends almost all his allowance in Time Zone playing Tekken or Street Fighter or Mario Cart.
He worked his way in college by working part time as a crew for Pancake House and as his magician cousin's assistant. That's the reason why Doms has a lot of magic tricks up his sleeve.
Anyway, after graduation, Doms had a work stint in an electrical plant in Laguna but he then resigned and transferred to Sykes Asia. He made more friends and gained reputation as the "unique" or more of "weird" employee.
Towards the latter part of his career in Sykes, he got the urge to try photography and he worked wonders on that field!
He takes pictures beautifully! He joined the Eon SXIS army were he developed his talent more. He climbs mountains, crosses rivers and treks forests just to take the perfect shot. Just like any other photographer, he also developed his graphic design skills. This was his stepping stone when he took the risk and went to Singapore not only to be with me, ehem, Dindin, but also look for a job where his talents are useful.
He is currently working as an Art Director for Stuff Magazine Singapore. In his free time, he still continues with his landscape photography.

So how will I describe myself? OK, let's start with the basic stuff about me.
My name is Dindin. If you're wondering, that's not my real name. I have a real name but I stopped mentioning it after several people start laughing when they hear my real name. Anyway, my dad is Luis and my mom is Zeny. I was born in Mandaluyong and we stayed in Sto. Rosario until I was on the 3rd grade. We transferred to Fairview and we live there ever since.
I studied in St. Paul Pasig for 14 years and I took up Commerce Major in Economics in UST. Ever since I was in high school, I already love writing. I became part of the Teen Advisory board for Seventeen Magazine and I loved that writing stint!
After graduation, I tried different jobs like being a call center agent and an English Instructor. Then I came across a job opening called Technical Writer. I didn't know what the job scope at first but I tried it and luckily, Headstrong took me in.
I loved my working experience in Headstrong. I liked the people I work with and the group I belong. After a while, another opportunity came and I left Headstrong and worked for Lawson with the same position.
I liked Lawson very well too. I developed friends that I will never forget and will always cherish.
Late 2008, I transferred here in Singapore because I got a job. A certain agency called me up and offered me a job here in SG. Even if it was just a 6-month contract, I still accepted it. They paid for my ticket going here in Singapore.
I loved my first job experience here. There were a lot of Filipinos in my 1st company so I had no problems with friends. After my contract, I looked for a next job. I had problems in looking for a job but luckily, I was referred to Crimson Logic by ,y friends.
Now, my current company is Crimson Logic and I am working as a Technical Writer here.
Enough about my work...
