All those in our wedding party are very near and dear to our hearts. Ariel and I choose quality over quantity in our friendships, and our wedding party reflects that.
My dad is one of those quiet dads who says what needs to be said and then trusts the rest to you. He's always believed in me, and I am proud to have him give me away.
My mom has been through it all with me and I am so thankful that she'll be right by my side for this most important day in my life. Even now that I'm out of the house she'll still cook food for me to take back to my apartment or buy me little things for the kitchen that she thought I'd like. She's always there looking out for me.
My sister (Ate, Te, Taters) has been there for me through thick and thin. I couldn't imagine having a better sister or friend. She taught me everything I know-from shaving my legs in 6th grade (Mom was pissed!) to knowing when I've found Mr. Right. I love you, Te!
Julie and I met in nursing school at NIU. We've done it all together-studying for finals at Barnes and Noble, going out dancing in the city, working together at Northwestern. She's a great advisor, a wonderful listener, and just a great friend.
It's MARZA GARZA! We were BFF's in junior high and high school. We lost touch in college, but found each other after graduation. This girl is timeless, enough said! Turbo duffy!
Maryum and I go way back to junior high. We've gone through similar trials and tribulations in life and we always face them together. Oh and she's also my personal trainer-getting me in shape for the wedding!
MariPaz is Ariel's big sister, but always seems to be my biggest fan. At family gatherings she'll always introduce me as Ariel's girlfriend and follow it with, "If he does anything to scare her away, I'll kill him!" I'm honored to have this talented, smart, outgoing extension of the Salazar clan in our wedding party.
Tina is the ultimate DIVA...in a good way. She makes every dull moment just disappear and always keeps it fun.
Ariel's dad has done it all for us-from helping us fix up our new home to helping Ariel with his golf game. He's always waiting ready with a helping hand and a joke promised to make you laugh.
Ariel's mom has always been so welcoming and generous with her time and talents. She's always willing to share and teach me her delicious recipes or give me gardening tips.
Ricky is a carbon copy of me, only slightly less chubby. It all started in high school and pretty much hasn't stopped since. Never a dull time with this guy.
Oldest 3 year old I know. Introduced me to the art of mixing two songs together and has been my DJing brother ever since. A true brother from another mother, but at least we have the same grand parents on both sides, so close enough.
My other brother from another mother and also Roman's brother. Coolest sociology major ever, with an affinity for German automobiles and fine cigars. If it weren't for Ronald, I would never know the true wonders of Patron, Belvidere, and Newports.
Dr. Ayalin is what everybody else has to call him, I prefer to call him just Tyler, but he's earned it. Greatest tenor sax player I know. Coined the phrase, "needs to be Supra". I'll have you know, it never needed to be. Took Dianne on our first date in that car, so yeah.
Lola Espi as we all know her is the brother of my Lolo Carding (Dad's dad). She also just recently got married on Valetine's Day. Congratulations, Lola and we are so grateful to have you at our wedding!
I first met Auntie Dulce at MariPaz's wedding and instantly felt like family. We are so honored to have her as a principal sponsor.
Tito Noel is my Dad's brother. I can't count how many times I hear compliments about him from patients at Northwestern. He makes a mean mushroom dila at family parties! I also got my first car as a generous donation from Tito Noel. Thanks, Tito!
Tito Apen is my ninong/godfather. I remember when I was little, he'd always give a dollar bill for every time he saw me-too bad I wasn't a saver then!
"If he asks, will you say yes? ...Ok, I'll talk to him"
Uncle Darius is one amazing cook! He makes the best wings, the best garlic green beans, ok...the best EVERYTHING! Thank you for all the wonderful meals, the funny jokes, and for introducing the Salazar family to Hong Kong Cafe!
"Is he the one?...Ok, I'll start saving for my plane ticket."
Tita Edna has forever been the cool aunt. My sister and I visited her in London during my spring break and that's when we had our first cocktail and first cigar.
Tito is my sister's father-in-law, Paulo's dad. He is a wonderful cook-love his pancit, and a great host at get togethers. Thank you to Tito for always making me feel welcome as the little sister taggin along!
Tita Linda and I share something in common, babysitting duty of Madelyn! I appreciate the days she takes over so that I can have a day to myself. Thank you again!
"It's wonderful. Just do it."
Aileen is one of the awesome Raborar cousins. She comes out to Ariel's DJ gigs with Dennis and represents. We are so honored to have her as a secondary sponsor.
"You're engaged too?! No? ...Oh, you're at GATE 2!"
Paulo's been there right from the start. Whether it was giving me a ride to work or bringing over dinner, he's there when you need him. He's been like the older brother that I never had. We're so happy that he'll be part of our big day.
Gen Gen and I share the Linchangco name, my cousin on my dad's side, and the awesome experience of being in my sister's wedding four years earlier. She is the young fashionista of all the cousins-always sporting the latest thing! We're very honored that she will be part of our day.
Richard is my youngest brother, the baby. He was actually at the Sox game where Ariel and I first started hanging out. He is a very hard working college student at UIC where he is pursuing dentistry. We really wanted him to grace us with his baritone @ the ceremony, but he firmly declined.
"And that's why Ariel doesn't like you!"
Greg A.K.A. Oyo and I share one thing, having a Salazar crush. Mine was Ariel and his was...SAMMY! The secret's out! Anyways, thank to Oyo for letting me crash at his place in the city when I work from time to time. He's always trying to get me to go out and relive my college days!
This crazy contortionist of a cousin will have to hold himself back during the church ceremony but we can't wait for him to let loose @ the reception!
Mads!! This crazy little ball of energy knows Ariel and I as Toto and Tata. We can't wait to see her tear down the ailse the only way she can!
