"We love because He first loved us." I I John 4:19
We met in college back in 1978, fell in love and got married on June 7, 1980. We have 3 beautiful children, Chelsea, Ryan and Ashleigh. We have lived in 4 countries and have had a very full & adventurous life. Our Chelsea is married to an incredibly gifted man, Drew, who is like a son to us. We have been blessed with 2 gorgeous grandchildren, Audrey and Asher, and we love every minute we get with them.
So why the renewal? You guessed it, this year we will be celebrating 30 years of marriage . . . not all easy years, but good years. We have decided it was time to make the promise "to love and to cherish until death do us part" again for this special anniversary.
We know people all over the world and wish we could bring them all to one place . . . beautiful Colorado, to share this day with us. We realize this isn't possible, but it sure was a nice thought!
When Don asked me to marry him 31 years ago, he asked what I was going to be doing for the next 70 years . . . kind of a hard question to say "yes" to. He quickly asked me to marry him, and I said, "yes!" We aren't quite half way to the 70th, but we are grateful for the 30 and praying that we will have 40 more!
Don wanted to get married on June 26 back in 1980, because Paul Harvey said it was the date the couple had been married the longest! But unfortunately it wasn't a Saturday and more importantly his sister, Debbie, was going on a missions trip to Chile, so we chose June 7th.
Yep, you guess it again, this year the 26th is a Saturday and the perfect day to say "WE DO" AGAIN! Join us if you can, the more the merrier.
