The past year has been an amazing one for me. I met the most amazing man on the planet, fell in love, and am now planning a wedding!
On November 1st of 2007, I signed up to go on a mission trip to New Orleans to rebuild houses that were damaged in Hurricane Katrina. Little did I know that I would meet my future husband there. I noticed Drew the first day on the bus ride down. I thought he was so good looking. I of couse was too shy to even speak to him so I didn't. At the time I thought he may have been shy. Come to find out he is the most un-shy person that I know. When he finally got the nerve to talk to me, we clicked instantly. There was never a quiet moment from that point on. What attracted me to Drew was his personality and sense of humor and of course his looks didn't hurt either. That is when this love story began.
It sure didn't take me long to fall for this guy. As soon as I introduced Drew to Josiah, they instantly were the best of buds. Josiah's face would just light up when he saw Drew. He treated Josiah like he was his own. I knew that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him and that he would be a great father figure in Josiah's life. In December, I went with his family to a Dallas Cowboys game and that is when Drew said those three little words. I couldn't have been any more happy.
In August, after 9 months of dating, I went to Playa del Carmen, Mexico with Drew and his family. I had no idea what was to come. We were planning to have a date night and just spend together time on the 2nd night. We went to a really nice restaurant and Drew wanted to go watch the sunset after dinner. We walked down the beach by a pier and Drew started walking out into the water. He motioned for me to come out to him so I did. Drew got down on one knee out in the ocean and with tears in his eyes, asked me to marry him. It was the most amazing proposal any girl could ask for.
