Letting Things Happen...

Sometimes you have to just step back and watch things happen before your eyes!

It is amazing to me how things rapidly change, especially when it comes to planning a wedding.

It is one thing to be bridezilla and rebel against the change and pout and throw a fit; it is another to simply accept the things that you cannot control and trust that it will all work out as it should in perfect order of the universe.

That being said, I have been trying to finalize our wedding attire so the Sig Zane Designed fabrics can go into production.  Ipo Kahele of Sig Zane Designs has been so nice to email us mock ups of what colors and patterns look like too!

Here is a photo of a beautiful couple recently married in Hilo who used white on white Sig Zane Designs.  This was a suggestion that Duke and I really love too.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            As things develop and unfold, it is not as easy as I thought it would be - especially when you are dealing with custom designs and colors.

So you just go with the flow and remain grateful and happy, and try to think creatively so that all options are on the table.

That is why blessings continue to flow in our life... if you let them happen.

I am just thankful I am not planning a wedding within 3 weeks as recently someone on Maui that I know is doing that.

  I cannot imagine that!

With 250 days left until our wedding, we have much to do and plan for during most of this year.

This month, I hope to continue getting details set up for our wedding attire, our music, our invitations, etc. and to continue trying to save money for the budget!

We would also love to go back and visit the wedding site again soon too.

This is their grand opening year and we want to make sure that we are as prepared as we can be.

In the mean time, I am continuing to finish a few oil paintings very slowly, that I hope to sell to contribute to our wedding fund.

It has also been fun impressing people with photos of our wedding location on my new iPhone!

I love being able to use it to share a few photos with people as it comes up in conversation - as a picture speaks a thousand words.

Did I mention that I have joined a halau hula this year too?

As if I don't have enough going on in my life, but I had been feeling this in my spirit for a while and this is the time of the year to commit.

I am so happy to find a wonderful group of hula sisters to share laughter with on Thursday nights.  We are learning a beautiful song "Ka Pilina" which is a love story and which may fit in perfectly as a wedding hula!

I am practically a new student but my previous knowledge really gives me an advantage in the areas of Hawaiian language and history.

I have been trying hard to keep up and to learn all the hula steps.

My muscles have been certainly worked and my hips have not moved like this before!  It is a good thing...getting the body stronger for that one day of birthing a child!

Just had to see if you were paying attention!!!
