About the Bridal Party Prints
Our wedding colors are red and canary yellow.
Our wedding theme is based around the leaf of the Koa tree and the blossom of the Ohi'a Lehua. These are both special and rare native trees that now grow and blossom at our Waikapu hale.
When we selected our designs for our wedding party by Sig Zane Designs, we thought it would be perfect to choose the leaf of the koa tree and the blossom of the Ohi'a Lehua.
Here is a description of the prints:
E Ola Koa: The ‘leaves’ of the koa tree -- which really aren’t leaves at all -- are crescent shaped petioles. The silvery green sheen on each petiole is the result of thousands of tiny hairs which gather moisture from the air and direct it down and inward, toward the trunk of the tree. This encourages growth not only for the koa, but for all the other plants that make their home beneath its sheltering branches.
Lehuamamo: The Lehua comes in four colors: scarlet, orange, yellow and the very rare white. The yellow blossoms are known as the lehua mamo, named for the golden hue similar to that of the extinct mamo bird’s prized yellow feathers.
