Our wedding party actually is small compared to a lot of weddings these days. It was fun to choose who we wanted to be with us on our wedding day. Here they are!
I chose my brother Kalani to be my best man. Been there for me many times over! Thick & thin. played foot ball baseball Paintball did the 2003 world cup. all the fun things. Has been there for me the most and I love the guy !
Nick is one of my best friends. I met Nick working at the Grand and he is one of the coolest guys I know! His family is always inviting us over for family parties and we have so much fun together. He helped me put dimmers on our lights the first week we moved in to our new home, and he is always there by my side to help me with anything.
Chris was born and raised on Maui and moved to San Diego with his family during his high school years. As soon as Chris had a chance, he moved back to Maui to be back in his island home. He soon met Pili on his many trips to Hana for bridge jumping with friends and in no time, they had Braizlin "Brazy" Au Hoon - my first grand niece.
On my wedding day, I cannot think of a better person to help keep me cool and calm than my best friend Erin. Through the thick and the thin, Erin has always been there for me in so many ways. I know that if she is by my side, that no rock will go unturned...and I won't have to worry about a thing! She always makes me laugh and helps me see through things clearly. Her attention to detail is second to none. With all the weddings she has been in or helped with over the years, for the first time she gets to be a Maid Of Honor - MY Maid of Honor!
I wanted one of my sisters to be my bridesmaid so Jessie it is! Jessie is my younger sister and while we did not get to grow up together since a big ocean separated us, we still felt very close. Memories of growing up together on Molokai were always strong within my heart and when we got to reunite about 10 years ago, I was so happy. Jessie will bring the life to the party and turn all the guys heads!
Natasha is my Canadian twin! We made instant friends over 11 years ago after we met at "The Art Of Hula" where I worked at Azeka Place. We have had so many good times together and we had the privelege of witnessing her own wedding on a Maui beach a few years ago and now raising her beautiful daughter Tehani. Tasha is a great hula dancer too so we have been lucky to see Keali'i Reichel and Sonny Ching in concert together at the MACC! Tasha is a Mac Makeup artist in Vancouver B.C. and is responsible for making me even more beautiful as now I use nothing but the best makeup! I had fun visiting their home in Vancouver too!
Rayden is Rachael and Duke's nephew from Molokai. The son of Imua Mawae (Rachael's brother) and Noel Paro, he is a combination of Hawaiian, Portuguese, Filipino, Cherokee, French, a little Irish and English I think!!! So Handsome! He loves to go fishing with his dad and flirt with all the hula girls. When he came to play at our house last, he had rocks stuck between his toes and he didn't even care...he is what real boys are made of!
Talia is Duke and Rachael's niece. She is the daughter of Kalani Au Hoon and Jennifer Au Hoon. Talia loves to come to our house to play. Rachael always takes her to the park too. She is very talented and loves to sing and play the drums.
Brazy is Duke and Rachael's grand niece. She is the daughter of Chris Au Hoon and Pili Estocado. She lives in Hana and always drives out to stay with us when she has baby check ups or just to visit. She loves to say "uncle" and "roof roof" and loves "Hello Kitty". When Brazy turned 1 we all went out to Hana to help celebrate her first birthday lu'au party.
My own father, Reverend Jim Kimmel will be our minister for our wedding! Yes, I want my father to walk me down that path to the gazebo and to turn around and bless us by performing our wedding ceremony! His message is so clear and filled with truth that will reverberate in our lives forever. Mahalo Dad! I love you!
