Dwight & Natasha

Our Story

A little about Tasha, a little about Dwight...this is our story and we're sticking to it!

Tasha's Story

Tasha's Story

Natasha, y'all know her as Tasha or Niki, is a native New Yorker turned DC area transplant. She grew up in Albany, NY and New York City, and after pursuing a degree in Healthcare Administration, she decided in December 2005 that she needed a change in scenery (either that or she entered the witness protection program--you decide). She is the Administrative Coordinator for a large cardiology practice in Columbia, MD.

Tasha was a tap dancer for nearly 20 years, so it's not uncommon for her to break into song and dance at random or tell war stories about dance practice and competitions. She's an 80s Michael Jackson junkie--please don't ask her to sing any of the songs. She will. In public. Loudly.

D's Story

D's Story

Dwight, or D to you, is a native of the area. Born in Washington, DC he and the fam lived in Bladensburg until moving to Largo in the late 80s. He served in the Army National Guard as an MP for 8 years, and after settling back into civilian life he became a police officer. You can usually find him in a patrol car somewhere around College Park.

A veteran of the war in Afghanistan D will sometimes tell war stories also, but unlike Tasha, his stories are actually war stories. Complete with camouflage and all. As an aspiring artist and writer, D's got skills with a pen and a pad. Be sure to save space on your bookshelf for his books, and space in your closet for his freshest custom sneaker designs.

Two Become One

Two Become One

Click, click, click, connect. That sums it up nicely. A mouse click here, a mouse click there, they met, and clicked in person. D found Tasha on "one of those dating websites" in late 2006. After many emails and killing several cellphone batteries with their endless phone conversations, they went on their first in-person date to watch Superbowl XLI. And who said romance and football can't mix?

They were smitten, and in short order, were discussing a future together. Everyone who saw them together could see that what they had was just right. By April, they were spending more time together than apart so they decided to take it a step further and share a home. They stepped out on faith, moved Tasha in with D, and have made it work ever since.

They were happy as happy could get and began talking about marriage and growing old together. They're a very low-key couple, so considered themselves engaged at that point, without the pomp and circumstance of a formal proposal. However, after shopping for a ring, D decided on December 14, 2007 to ask for the blessing of Tasha's parents and made it official.

On December 13, 2008 D and Tasha will be united in Holy Matrimony, and are excited to celebrate the day with family and friends.
