In the rain the pavement shines like silver
All the lights are misty in the river
In the darkness, the trees are full of starlight
And all I see is him and me forever and forever

For our beach wedding, the city does not allow flower petals of any kind. This really stumped me for awhile because what else do flower girls do but drop petals? I tossed and turned over lots of different ideas and then I finally came up with these: To make these, I started off by threading a piece of thick ribbon through the center of a 4" styrofoam ball Then, using a pencil, I poked deep enough holes to fit the stems of silk flowers into: Here are the flowers I used....
With only 31 days until the wedding (yikes), I have been very busy with wedding crafts. To save myself from having to post multiple times, Im combining the latest crafts to one post. Paper sunflower. I saw this in my favorite paperie and just had to have it. It comes as a kit but that does not make it any easier to put together. All the little detail was done by me. I still need to fill in the middle part more but I got really sick of twisting up small sticky...
Kept them white this time but played with these beautiful dried yellow flowers that are everywhere around Irvine right now. they solidified nicely and the flowers were a beautiful touch. I added them to the bottom of the mold first and then poured slowly. Got a little carried away with the flowers here. Too much of a good thing CAN be a bad thing.
Here are two of my favorite pics from my bachelorette party. I have the best friends!
This time I got a little fancy. I finally mastered the color addition,
but I added some dried flowers and that didnt go over so well.
Im finally feeling all settled into the new place so I decided to take another stab at the soap. Update from last time, a few of the soaps turned out okay but most of them become stuck to the plastic mold and I had to take them out using a knife. This resulted in a lot of cut up soap. I racked my brain with what could be making the soap so sticky and couldnt figure it out. But I decided to try mixing the soap and the lye to allow the caustic reaction to occur for longer and see if...
I read this today while browsing my daily blogs: " we are creating a template for the values we will share as a married couple and that we will raise our family with" This is exactly what Ektor and I have in mind when organizing our
wedding. While of course we want all of our guests to have a blast, we
also want to not forget our values and the things that are important to
us when doing it. Top of the list are compassion, conservation, environmentalism,
and equality...
First attempts at soap making: they came out well! Next step, colors and add-ins!
I saw these dresses today and fell in love! They are handmade with
organic cotton and small little faux pearls. Only thing is, I have to
order them now because the fabric comes from a small, independent store
and therefore is seasonal. So, Im going to order one size bigger than
my two little girls are now and then my wonderful grandma offered to
make adjustments as the time gets closer. Aren't they absolutely
beautiful?!
What do brides wear for jewelry on their big day? You know Im all about being thrifty but still classy, so new jewelry at Tiffanys is out of the question. Im looking for reused/recycled/under $100 type of stuff. I need advice! pearls? or crystals? or neither?
