For our beach wedding, the city does not allow flower petals of any kind. This really stumped me for awhile because what else do flower girls do but drop petals? I tossed and turned over lots of different ideas and then I finally came up with these:
To make these, I started off by threading a piece of thick ribbon through the center of a 4" styrofoam ball

Then, using a pencil, I poked deep enough holes to fit the stems of silk flowers into:

Here are the flowers I used. They were a little expensive ($6/bunch, I purchased 8 bunches) but I was able to get them all 25% off. I would have really liked to use real flowers but didnt want to have worry about assembling them they day before the wedding.

Another successful and inexpensive project!
Total cost: $46 therefore $23/girl
$36 silk flowers
$7 for 2 styrofoam balls
$3 ribbon

I think they are beautiful! I am so impressed with your artistic flare, as well as staying within your budget. Two qualities you didn't get from your mom! I am counting the days...26 'til I leave!
