Cake testing and Laguna Village!
Today we were finally able to view our venue. It is beautiful! You are all going to love it! Although, the pain part was definitely the lack of parking. Those of you who know the area know how tight and congested with traffic the streets are. Check back to this website later (and look in your wedding invitations) for direction cards which will also have possible parking locations.
We also went to Donna B's Bakery to choose and taste our cake flavors. We are going to have a two tiered square (Elisa's choice) cake covered in chocolate ganache (Eric's choice). It will have very simple white icing decor along with fresh flowers in the colors of our wedding. The cake flavors are super duper yummy! The bottom, biggest layer will be chocolate cake with tiramisu and fudge filling. And, for all you tiramisu haters out there (ahem, Lisa) it DOES not taste like booze! It tastes like a delicate mixture of coffee and chocolate. Everyone who knows me knows I do NOT like coffee. So, if I love it, it is not that strong. The top layer is made oup of white cake with a bavarian cream and lemon curd filling. I know all the lemon lovers out there will LOVE this one! (Shout outs to Mom, Kerstin, Gail and Wanda Jean!)
When focusing on just the bride and the groom, we had a really great day.
