Jason is the older little brother of the groom. His hobbies include tormenting his brother, stealing food off of Karen's plate at every opportunity, climbing and enjoying life in the mountains.
Karen's best friend and older sister, Kelly, will be travelling in from the other side of the Rockies. She's a grade six teacher in Vancouver. Older, wiser, but just as crazy - Kelly was the first of the two to jump off the bridge on their Bungee Jumping adventure this summer.
Lucero and Karen met through Ryan. Since then, Lucy and Karen have become good friends - sipping lots of coffee, chatting up a storm while walking the neighborhood, and trying out crazy classes at the gym.
Devin is probably Ryan's oldest friend. He and Ryan went to pre-school, elementary, jr. high, and University together. Since about grade 8 they shared interests in all things nerdy, windsurfing, skiing, percussion, and tootsie rolls.
Ryan and Nick met each other in high school, but didn't really get to know each other until University, on a road trip to Edmonton where all of their mutual friends ditched out, leaving the two more or less stangers with 6 hours to spend in the car. After some bungee jumping (and the infamous bungee accident), BEvERages, and chilling in the U of A res, they became great, and lifelong friends, even when Nick was away in Toronto and Vancouver.
Sometimes Ryan and I call Andrea with hypothetical emergencies. For example - "If Ryan pointed the glue gun at his eyelids while preparing wedding invitations...what would we do?" Andrea is amazing - she has the patience to answer the questions whether it's a prank or a real emergency (when it involves Ryan, it's hard to tell which it is). For something as important as our wedding, my clumsiness and Ryan's track record, it's just good sense to have her around!
All jokes aside, Andrea is kind, caring and a great friend to both of us.
