Engagement Photos

We were very fortunate to receive not just one, but two complimentary engagement photo shoots.

Thank you, Lauren and Kim, for your time and effort in providing us with these gorgeous (and fun!) photos.

Crystal Cove Photos by Lauren Miyake

Lauren Miyake, a friend of Tina Chang, our wedding coordinator, took some shots of us at Crystal Cove. She later told us she took about 600 pictures of us! Amazing.

As you can see after visiting her website, her photos really pop and she has a real eye for the camera. What surprised us most is that she's only been taking pictures for a few months--she's a total pro to us!

Not only did Lauren take engagement photos for us at the beach--she also took pictures the day of the wedding. We're the first wedding that Lauren has ever taken pictures at, and we can't wait to see how they turn out!

Orange County Fair Pictures by Kim Tran

I met Kim Tran back as a junior in high school at a bonfire, and we both ended up going to a prom at a school where we weren't even students! (Kim had gone to Oceanview High School, I had gone to Costa Mesa High School, and we went to Santiago High School's prom.)

After high school, we didn't seen each other for about seven years. Then, last May, we ran into each other at John Wayne Airport where we were not only on the same flight, but in adjacent seats! As it turned out, Kim was on her way to NYC to visit her sister and I was heading there to work for the summer. Talk about kismet.

Kim and her assistants and friends, Cuong and Larry, took pictures of us at the Orange County Fair. One of our favorite moments was when we all had some chocolate covered bacon. Needless to say, I was the only one who enjoyed it.

Gil and I had a great time taking pictures with Kim, though, and we love the black and white canvas that she and Larry gifted us!
