Jenny Wong
Maid of Honor
Michelle met Jenny when they roomed together as counselors in a non-profit summer camp during college. They instantly hit it off, and soon were known as the Dynamic Duo (or the DD, read: double D). They also got into trouble together. A lot. (Although only of the good kind.)
Edlyn Chao
Bridesmaid
Michelle met Edlyn in Baltimore when they both taught at the same school and were roommates. Gil would visit nearly every weekend. Edlyn and Michelle then went to Teachers College in New York City to pursue their Masters degrees. Edlyn has the dirtiest mind ever. She's like an evil perverted genius.
Uyen Thach
Bridesmaid
Michelle met Uyen at Thieu Nhi (Vietnamese Catholic Youth Group). They later attended junior high and high school together. Uyen has seen Michelle in the best of times and the worst of times. She knows that Gil has a big job ahead of him and wishes him luck. He needs it.
Ly Vu
Bridesmaid
Ly and Michelle met in junior high. They share a love of imitating Monica from Friends: I know! Ly often incredulously asks Michelle of Gil, "How does he put up with you?" Ly's currently in pharmacy school and is known for getting fabulous shopping bargains.
Andrea Nguyen
Junior Bridesmaid/Flower Girl/Ringbearer
Andrea is Michelle's youngest sister. She is very excited to be a member of the wedding party and is looking forward to being able to wear her Hannah Montana shoes.
Len Taing
Groomsman
Gil befriended Len during freshman year of college when they realized they were soul brothers. Len was the one who introduced Gil to cheap Chinese vodka (commonly known as bai jiu). That same night, Gil swore never to drink Chinese vodka again.
Dominic Nguyen
Groomsman
Dominic is Michelle's older brother. He worked on the Hill, Capitol, that is, before attending grad school. He has recently received his Masters degree from the School for Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University and will be spending a year conducting research in Viet Nam shortly after the wedding. He enjoys practicing Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). Gil used to be very afraid of Dom. In fact, sometimes Gil still is. But Dom's a big teddy bear. (Gil hopes.)
Eric Sugar
Groomsman
Eric Sugar is one of Gil's co-workers and trusted friends. Eric Sugar and his lovely wife, Naomi, fondly refer to Gil as "Chort" due to his striking resemblance to the Homestarrunner character. Gil and Michelle have spent many a Sunday on the Sugars' couch watching Lost episodes, while also eating up all of the Sugars' food. Michelle and Gil look forward to seeing the donkey that Eric Sugar has promised to bring to the wedding.
Van Le
Groomsman
Van is one of Michelle's oldest friends. He knew her when she was still unable to drive outside of her "20 minute radius" back in high school. Known as "Spider," Van is an anime fan and a true artist. He is engaged to the charming Zohra, and they are in the middle of planning their own destination wedding this upcoming December.
