Panajachel, Solola

Pana, short for Panajachel, is a town of interesting sights, smells and sounds. You can purchase hand made crafts and beautiful paitings at a very good price and get to bargain with the locals.
Pana, is a very turisty place, therefore you will find banks, ATM’s, cafes, restaurants and many shops. You may also pay with your credit card at many of these locations.
What you need for Pana and the lake: Comfortable clothes, like shorts, Capri pants, walking shoes, also bring a bathing suit for the boat ride across the lake (if you wish to get a tan). Q200 in cash (aprox), for the boat ride, and to buy some crafts and other goods. And definitely a camera, the view is breathtaking!

Located on the Pacific coast, this volcanic black sand beach is known for its annual influx of sea turtles and peaceful surroundings. Due to the volcanic nature of Guatemala, the entire Pacific Ocean coastline is made up of black sand, which can heat up pretty quickly in the daytime sun and makes the water pretty warm to swim in.
We will enjoy this day at a beautiful beachfront resort, have the traditional Ceviche (seafood cocktail), visit sea turtle conservation, and enjoy a tranquil coastal sunset over the Pacific Ocean.
What you need for the beach: your Speedo, bikini, flip-flops, sun block, hat and a good appetite.
The temperature here will range from about 25 to 35 degrees Celsius.
Bus drive aproximately 1 hour from Antigua.

Pacaya Volcano is the most frequently climbed volcano in Guatemala and and a popular tourist attraction. Pacaya lies approximately 25 to 30 km south of Guatemala City, and is easily accessible from Antigua Guatemala.
Pacaya’s elevation is 2,552 meters (8,373 ft) above sea level. The climb up generally takes 2 hours. It is non-technical, but tiring and you might feel the elevation. As of today, Pacaya is one of the 3 active volcanoes in Guatemala, so it usually puts on a good show with Lava Rivers, dried up lava streams and volcanic rocks.
What you need for the hike: Good boots that lace up, canteen of water, snacks, sun block, and a hat. Maybe about Q50-- Q25 for the park entrance fee and little extra for refreshments when you get back down.
