We thought it might be a good idea to introduce our families to everyone...
Maureen & Tim Pea
Nicole's Mom and Stepdad live in the Portland area. Tim works in the field of addiction recovery and Maureen has worked at the same office as a dental assistant for 30 years! In their spare time they work miracles fixing up houses and reselling them. They have been endlessly helpful and supportive throughout our relationship and engagement! They are very excited to have Grant as part of the family.
Gary Miller
Nicole's Dad lives just outside Portland. He works as an independent car salesman. Gary enjoys watching sports and NASCAR, as well as learning everything he can about ancient Rome. We hope to travel there with him while we live in France! He is looking forward to getting to know Grant better and is very excited for us!
Joel Miller
Nicole's brother is currently working hard as a sophomore at the University of Oregon in Eugene. He enjoys almost anything to do with performing...singing, dancing, acting, etc! He is also a very hard worker and strives to be a physician...and he is probably one of the funniest people you will ever meet! He has been very supportive and is excited to be there for our special day!
Kay Simmons
Grant’s Mom lives in West Linn which is part of the Portland metropolitan area. She enjoys reading about current events, learning intricate aspects of American and world history, and being active in the church (Westminster Presbyterian). She has been endlessly supportive throughout the engagement, and she is happy to add Nicole to the family.
Steve Simmons
Grant’s Dad also lives in West Linn, Oregon. He is Fleet Manager at a Portland Volkswagen/Hyundai dealership where he has worked since the early 1980s. Steve enjoys trips to small coastal towns in Oregon, hiking, skiing, exploring the geology of the Columbia River basalt group (current terrain created millions of years ago by giant lava flows), and all aspect of wine, from its consumption to the agricultural science of its production! Steve is very happy to have Nicole join the family.
Burton Simmons
They say it’s the quiet ones you have to watch out for… and this character… well OK, he isn’t that quiet. In fact, Grant’s brother Burton has a lot to say, and he speaks to the world through his blog at www.walkingsaint.com. Burton is an extremely bright, technologically savvy guy with a knack for tracking down information and a potent curiosity to boot. Burton will finish the MBA program at Willamette University (Salem, Oregon) this spring and re-enter the workforce in Portland shortly thereafter. Burton has been an amazing brother to Grant and very supportive throughout the engagement. Burton thinks Nicole is great, and is very excited to have her as a part of the family.
