Carrie and Greg

Our Story

Our long history....

The early years

1990-1993
The early years

I first met Greg when he was just a wee 19 years old, and still in BUDS training for the Seal Team. Greg came to my house for a party in Coronado, and I still remember him standing apart from the rest of the crowd. Through a mutual friend, we became roommates in 1990 and lived together through Greg's first West Pac, a move while he was gone, and our own personal relationships. I started to see how much we got along, and when we went out on our first date on Jan. 20th, 1992, the rest was history. I visited Greg in Guam on his 2nd West Pac and we were engaged to be married Dec. 18th, 1993, but sadly, the timing just wasn't written for us quite yet. We parted our own ways for a few years, but soon re-connected through what ended up being years of conversation and friendship.

The long journey....

1999-2008
The long journey....

We stayed in touch through phone calls and e-mail, and even helped each other through our own personal relationships. I guess you could say we know each other quite well from many different angles. :) We gave each other advice on how to handle our current relationships, and always just knew, we were somehow a phone call or e-mail away. There was always a static undercurrent that never went away. Something very special that we both had in the beginning that we never found again with anyone else. For two people to feel that, something there could not be ignored. A psychic once told me about Greg, I hadn't said a word, but somehow knew Greg would be brought up as someone I had known a very long time. My gut feeling was right. The psychic brought Greg up to ME, told me his age, occupation, etc., and then what I knew all along...that we'd known each other not only many lifetimes, but "hundreds of lifetimes." I smiled and felt the tears well up in my eyes, as I already knew.

At long last....

At long last....

After 16 years, we finally re-connected and don't want to be apart for another second, we have so much fun together. Everything we have been through all these years has happened for a reason, we are who we are because of those times and obstacles. Our time apart has made us so appreciative of each other, and we wouldn't trade that for the happiness we share together now. What an amazing day March 20, 2010 will be, full-circle...without a doubt.
