Kristin is my dearest sister and I'm so excited for her to be my matron of honor. She's been there through it all and our relationship is a huge blessing to me. She's 4 years older, but everyone thinks I'm older!!! Not fair. She knows me pretty darn well so she's the perfect person for the job. Thank God she's the perfect planner. I will definitely need her organizational expertise and am grateful for her ability to make me laugh like no one else can. Can't wait to have her standing right next to me when I say I do.
Jenny is my closest cousin and she's like a sister to me. I've always looked up to her (I even desired to be a ballerina just like her so you can imagine how sad I was when I got kicked out of ballet for being so uncoordinated). I greatly admired her strength, faith and constant encouragement. I don't know how she does it all.
Carlsbad California - where do I begin. We've been best friends since 9th grade so we've been through it all together. She is one of the most amazing people I've ever known and I know we'll be friends forever. I can't wait to re-live Hawaii with her - never a dull moment when Carly's around. If anyone gets lost she'll know how to get you to where you need to go. She'll also be easy to find since I can pretty much bet she'll be wearing purple for the entire trip.
Nancy Johnson my sweetest faithful friend! We met shortly after I moved to Hawaii and lucky her she got to be my roommate :) She loved it. We had so much fun together and I learned so much from her - how to clean, kill roaches, be responsible and most importantly how to most enjoy Hawaii - she's the best little tour guide ever. She is also the best listener I've ever met and has wisdom beyond her years. I feel so blessed to have her in my life and am so so grateful for our friendship. However, if I get skin cancer - I blame her.
Priscilla Yin is the cutest and most thoughtful person I know. She also has an amazing fashion sense. I kind of want her to design the wedding but she's been a little busy with her job. I love how we can go awhile without talking but we always end up right where we left off - like no time has passed. We have a ton in common and can talk forever (which is why we might be late to events when we're together). I feel honored to have her as a bridesmaid!
The middle Grinager brother (a.k.a. Hans' landlord for the past 3 years). Pete attended St. Olaf College in Minnesota just like Hans and beat Hans' senior team in intramural softball during his freshman year, effectively crushing Hans' dream of winning the coveted intramural champion t-shirt! Hans has since forgiven him for being a better athlete and has had a blast living with him (and Nate) in St. Paul and is honored to have him as co-best man, brother, and friend.
Nathan is the youngest Grinager brother and managed to survive the brotherly torture he endured growing up with Hans. He also went to St. Olaf College and is working with Peter and John in the family business Approve-it! He moved in with Hans and Pete in 2010 and made Hans feel like a kid again growing up in his childhood home with his two younger brothers. Hans has treasured the opportunity to live with his brothers, and is honored to have Nate by his side on his wedding day.
Chris is Hans' youngest uncle on his mom's side of the family, and has been like a big brother to Hans ever since he moved to Minnesota for college when Hans was a little kid. He now has an impressive family of his own with 4 kids. He has been a great example to Hans of a loving father and husband, and Hans is honored to have him by his side on the big day.
Mike (a.k.a. Deke) is Hans' great friend from high school who allowed Hans to live in his house during his 4 years in medical school while Deke was in law school at the U of Minnesota. Now that Hans moved in with Pete just a mile down Jefferson St, Deke makes it down to Pete's house regularly to hang with the dudes and make regular Dairy Queen runs. Deke just started his own law firm with his father in St. Paul.
Nate is a man of many nicknames that seem to change by the week, but he's been an amazing friend to Hans ever since high school, something that hasn't changed. He is always up for a round of twilight golf or throwing the football, and always keeps the party going way later than it ever should have, so be sure to groove with him on the dance floor at the wedding reception!
Mark had the pleasure of attending high school and college with Hans, and was an integral part of Hans' intramural team's losing efforts in college... He now has a family of his own that is off to a great start with his young son Adam. With the little guy and his job at Best Buy headquarters keeping him busy, he rarely has time to golf with Hans anymore, but Hans forgives him. Mark has been a true friend for many years and Hans is grateful to know him.
