Groups were assigned for projects and our first assignment was something relating to Pantene Shampoo.. we spend most of time together after lectures and during weekends to discuss and work on our projects and finally presentation ...

Being the only couple in the class, we were always in the center of attraction and the most unforgetable incident was playing truth or dare in the library with our classmates..

And the first time Hao revealed Xin was his girlfriend was during a BizComm tutorial that Xin was the best thing that happend to him in TP in front of the class. Everyone was cheering and clapping.. Xin was very touched as Hao is normally a shy guy and she did not expect him to declare his feelings in front of the class.

The next 2 years while Hao was serving the Nation, Xin was pursuing her Degree in Aust.. there were ups and down and it was the most difficult period in both Hao and Xin's relationship coping with long dist rslp as well as army and study stress. We kept our love going through webcam, sms, phonecalls and etc

Very soon Xin graduated and Hao completed his National Service... both of us entered the work force at the same time .. working hard towards their future.

Everything was planned and Hao asked Xinyi out on 1th Nov 08. It was her birthday eve & he took her out for a good lunch while promising her a good surprise for her birthday.

All along, Xinyi was only told they will be staying overnight at some unknown yet surprising place, but little did she know it was – The Link Hotel. This theme hotel was first researched by Xinyi, after which she told Stephanie that she wanted to try out staying in a theme hotel.

Hence, it wasn’t hard for Hao to find out from Stephanie where to host the proposal.

Link Hotel is rather ulu (out of place), hence it took Hao and Xinyi quite some time walking around trying to locate that hotel.

This is only part one of the plan, Xinyi is still kept in the dark of special guests appearances by Stephanie, Huili and her BF. Hao deliberately delays the time resting in the hotel room after checking in, so that the guests can arrive in time to surprise XY.

Hao didn’t reveal to Stephanie that a proposal was to be done after midnight, but somehow they guessed it. Hao only told Stephanie there is a birthday cake specially ordered and custom made to be delivered at 12pm to hotel room.

After the guests’ special appearance, together they went for a dinner and a movie show so as to spent the time till 12 midnight.

Hao and the rest returned to the hotel around 1145 pm and made some chit chat while waiting for the birthday cake. Hao was especially uneasy as he knew the proposal will soon take place.

The heart shape brownie cake came with additional chocolates. After the happy birthday song and birthday wish, Hao had to pop the question.

During the half an hour, Hao heart kept thumping heavily, millions of butterflies swarmed his tummy and his heart skipped a beat while taking out his proposal ring.

Hao then gave a soft “Will you marry me?” Then open the Soo Kee casing (freaking hard to open at that moment, with hands shaking). Awkwardness was in the air as Xinyi gave zero response. Absolutely no response or a single sound can be heard from her (wanted to strangle her). Just say yes, damn it….

To break the silence, Hao realized he had to say something. Then Hao said why he chooses her, the meaning of the proposal and his commitment to her, and re-prompts the stonefish (Xinyi) to wriggle a bit.

Not to forget Huili shrieking “You never kneel arh!!”

Thereafter, Xinyi took the ring and agreed.
