About Heather
The Bride
I work at a local hospital as a Unit Technician on the Medical/Surgical floor while awaiting an opening in the Nursing program at a local tech college. When I'm not at work, my hobbies include photography, trying to cook, reading, gardening (trying to anyway), and lately wedding planning! I'm 22 years old and can't wait to get the rest of my life started and I am so glad that Brodie is here with me to share it with!

About Brodie
The Groom
Brodie works in retail and is pursuing a degree in Marketing in hopes that he will be able to move up into management. In his free time, he is an avid video game fanatic, as well as a movie buff which is quite handy as we spend many evenings in just watching movies and being together. Brodie is 21 years old but is much more mature than me in many ways. :)

How We Met
This is a long story. The first time we met was actually way back when we attended Washington Jr. High. We were in Jazz Band together, but we never talked. But for whatever reason, I remembered who he was. Fast forward to Brodie's senior year of high school and my first year of college. We both happened to be attending a roller skating social event sponsored by our school UW-Manitowoc. I saw him and started talking to him....and the rest of it just filled itself in. We've now been officially together for going on four years in March. We were both so lucky to come across each other so early; we both know that we really are "the one" and that is reaffirmed quite often! We're that couple that all of our friends just know about.
The Proposal
On the evening of January 25, 2008, I had just gotten home from work. It was snowing, those really beautiful big, fluffy flakes. It was also extremely cold. Brodie asked me if I wanted to for for a walk and intially, I refused because it was so cold! After awhile of convincing, I agreed to go. We walked down by the Manitowoc River, where the city recently installed blue lights on the bridge above the water. We continued walking to the area where they hold the Farmer's Market...there are some white lights hanging in the trees. As I looked around and realized how beautiful this all was, I saw Brodie squatting holding a ring. He asked me to marry him, and I of course said yes! I also teased him because he didn't want to kneel and get his knees wet!
