It was very hard for us to limit the amount of attendants in the wedding party as we are blessed with so many wonderful friends, but these are the people who have so graciously agreed to be part of our big day!
Steve met Rob his first day of freshman year at SNHU when they both found themselves living on the Wellness floor of one of the dorms. Rob and Steve instantly bonded over there love for everything outdoors, particularly skiing and biking, two activities they still avidly pursue. Steve knew Rob would be his Best Man even before he proposed to Holly. Rob was always there for Steve for anything, whether it be an ear for advice, a partner to go skiing with or a buddy to just hang out with. It was obvious from that very first day that Rob was someone Steve could always count on and Steve and Holly are glad to have him be a part of their wedding.
Holly met Julie so many years ago she can't even put a date on it! All she knows is that without Julie she would have a lot fewer happy memories! Julie has been there for Holly through some of her most difficult times and has always been someone she can turn to no matter what. They have spent countless hours at the movies (a favorite past time) and even managed to see 100 movies in one year! Whether they were just driving around griping about the difficulties of life, grabbing a bite to eat at one of their favorite spots, exploring new places or chasing down great deals on new purses they always had each other. Like Steve, Holly had always known who she would want standing beside her on her big day and she is so grateful to have Julie with her as she plans the wedding!
Christopher is Steve's younger brother, but no one would ever know it! Chris has always been a life force in Steves life, always pushing him to work harder and do more. Steven and Christopher have always been very competitive, chasing each other on the ski slopes and even in their cars. While they went to different colleges they were never more than a phone call away and frequently spent time with each other in Vermont with friends and countless concerts at Saratoga Springs. Chris is a great brother and a great future brother in law and Holly and Steve are thrilled to have him be a part of their big day!
Christina has had the pleasure of being Holly's big sister for 25 years. All joking aside, Holly could not have asked for a better sister. Christina has always been protective of her baby sister and was always ready to fight with anyone who gave Holly a hard time. Despite Holly's boisterous and often precocious personality, Christina was consistently patient with her and taught her many things growing up, including how to swim and how to ski. Even after going away to college over two hours away Christina, who Holly affectionately calls "Nina", was still there for Holly as she struggled through the wonderful experience called being a teenager. Holly is so thankful to have such a great older sister who will be part of the most important day of her life.
Ian and Steve met at SNHU their sophmore year. Like Rob and Steve, Ian lived on the Wellness floor and also had an affinity for the outdoors. The three of them spent countless hours skiing, kayaking, white water rafting and anything else dangerous they could get themselves into! Though Ian left SNHU for Plymouth State during his third year the friendship that the three of them had formed was not lost. They would get together for outdoor mayhem as often as possible and supported each other through the years as they all found their lives changing rapidly once the end of their college careers approached. Steve is proud to say that Ian is his friend and will be there to once again support him as he takes this next step in his life.
Alexis and Holly met via the People to People Student Ambassador Program where they were fortunate enough to spend three weeks in England, Ireland and Wales in the summer of 1999. While they met several times ahead of the trip for group activities, it wasn't until the plane ride where they found each other seated with one another that they realized it was destiny. During the course of the 5 hour plane flight they talked about everything from music (Pearl Jam and Bush) to movies (Empire Records and Dazed & Confused) to their love of cookie dough and macaroni and cheese! They spent the next three weeks reeking havoc in Europe and talk about the day that they can go back. Even after the trip and a cross country move by Lex, they stayed in touch seeing each other as often as they could and often making cookies and watching Empire Records! Holly is so happy that Alexis has decided to be a part of the wedding despite being a thousand miles away.
