Who is 'Who'?

Quite a few people have been asking me what's up with this whole 'Doctor Who' Sci-Fi thing that we've decided to incorporate into our wedding. I realize to a lot of people who aren't fans of this particular genre, that some of the idea that we've come up with might seem a bit strange.

Before I get to what Doctor Who is, I wanted to let you all know that without it, I might not have ever met Ethan. When I was looking around online at all the (strange) people, none of them caught my eye until I Ethan. I read through his profile, and it all but screamed nerd. Doctor Who came up more than once, and as I was new to the Who, I thought it might be interesting to talk with someone else about it.
So other than being one of the greatest shows to ever have graced our screens, it's part of the founfation of 'us'.


Now on to the What.


Doctor Who is a British science fiction show that first aired in 1963. The main character is The Doctor, a time (and space) travelling alien who goes around usually with a human companion or two and protects the world(s), solves problems, and is basically fantastic.  It's the longest-running sci-fi show in the world and spawned multiple spin-offs. There is so much more to it than what I can tell you. so if you want to do some research of your own, feel free!

The reason I'm sharing all of this with you is because many of the guests (and the majority of the wedding party) are at the very least casual veiwers, if not full-blown maniacs like Ethan who can recite the title of every episode since the beginning. I don't want anyone to feel left out or confused over anything. If you see some 'interesting' decorations or centerpieces, or if you find yourself having stumbled upon a conversation that you aren't sure is entirely sane, i want you all to feel free to ask.
